‘ Cardiff today sign a defender’

Cardiff City have made their first U23s signing of the summer, Xavier Benjamin, aged 18, a defender, was released by Fulham who he came through their academy.
Benjamin joined Sunderland for the last couple of weeks of last season on trial
He played for the Black Cats’ development side in their Premier League 2 game against Birmingham City.
The Black Cats decided not to offer Benjamin a contract.
Cardiff City today gave Xavier Benjamin a two-year contract.
Xavier Benjamin played for Fulham's academy from 2012 until 2022. He broke through to the U18 squad in the 2019-20 season but struggled with injuries the last year and was eventually released and went on trial to other clubs.
