‘ As the Cardiff City Squad head to Scotland’

Postby Forever Blue » Fri Jun 24, 2022 10:03 am

Cardiff City's new-look squad will head to Scotland on Sunday for a week of training and team bonding as Steve Morison ramps up his side's pre-season preparations.

Cardiff will play no games while on the trip and will simply undergo training before being given next weekend off. They will then have a full week's build-up, back at their Vale of Glamorgan HQ, before their packed pre-season fixture schedule kicks off.

With 10 players now virtually all left and 8 right new players the squad will train together and get to know each other more.

Three more new players are expected to arrive in the next couple of days, maybe even today.

The huge squad overhaul, though, means this group of players bears little resemblance to the one at the tail end of last season and the club are taking the opportunity to head up to Edinburgh in order for the new players to get to know their new team-mates and coaches better before pre-season games begin.

All 8 new players are travelling.

Hell of an expensive trip just to do training when we have a high class facility at home

Trips like this are essential, especially with so many new signings. A different environment, getting the players together, working on different things, building team bondage and morale. It should be a very useful trip building togetherness and camaraderie.

Is tying our central defenders together the answer to the gaps we left through the middle of the park last season. Call me old Fashioned but surely a bit more work on the training field will sort this out
