‘ Cardiff City Striker to miss the beginning of the season ‘

I still stand by Davies is not a striker but a good fast winger.

Cardiff desperately need 2 new strikers this season.

Isaak Davies out for pre-season

Isaak Davies' knee injury is set to sideline him for the majority of pre-season.

Isaak Davies who is 21 years old in 2 months has scored 2 goals in 28 appearances for the Bluebirds.

The young striker was called up to Wales' under-21s squad in the summer but had to withdraw due to injury. The timescale put on the injury at the time was around 12 weeks, which it is understood will take us up to the start of the season.

Whether his rehabilitation goes better than planned and he can sneak in before the season begins is a possibility, however missing the chance to train properly with his new team-mates and take on board the new playing style Steve Morison will likely try to implement will be a disadvantage.

Davies was in the building last week when the players reported for their first day back but is not currently in Scotland with the rest of the squad.

Davies will want to kick on next season after enjoying a breakthrough campaign last year.

Annis I agree that he’s not a striker and for me, the jury’s out whether he can hack it’s a winger. Time will tell I suppose.

Isaac is a talent and made a big contribution to keeping us up last season. Setting up Kieffer's goal against Huddersfield. Goal and contribution against QPR away. Of course as a youngster coming into the first team he's going to be variable but that is to be expected.
Also remember his part in the Colwill goal at Liverpool. Was actually the goal of the match.
I think he can play as a winger or as what used to be called an inside forward.

tbf, its not only the level and the fact there playing against grown men that our under 21 who are making the set up have had to adapt to, but the style as well. From the few games I watched online of the youngster this season, they play a lot me passing game than the first team. If we continue the change in our approach, players like Davies might be able to make more impact.
