Romaine Sawyers is a Bluebird

Cardiff City FC are pleased to announce that Romaine Sawyers has joined the club on a two-year deal, subject to clearance.

Sawyer who is 31 years old in a couple of months arrives in the Welsh capital following a three-year spell with West Bromwich Albion, during which time he was a key figure in aiding the Baggies to Premier League promotion in 2019/20.

Sawyers is a midfielder.


Romaine Sawyers was released by WBA this Summer after being sent out on loan to Stoke City last season where he made 25 appearances.

Our weakest area over the last few years was midfield now its very strong with the reading lad and this lad, we get a couple of good strikers in and I think we will gave a great season .

For me Sawyer is our best signing so far.

Way way ahead of the majority of the other signings.

This is a brilliant signing, delighted with it.

For me our best signing this summer and fair play to SM he looks to have sorted our midfield issues. A player like this could be a massive benefit to Max Watters because he has good movement but until now has not received the type of service he needs.

Still need a couple of decent forwards though and if SM can get them we may well have a half decent season.

Great signing , we are looking mid table with current team , once we get strikers in , the Prem loan market , I the next 4 weeks as they won't release before hand and we might be outside contenders for top 6

He signed a few days ago but cardiff do not officially announce anything till its 100% done nowadays ,i dont blame them either after the sala incident.
