Cardiff reject 2.5m bid for Isaak

Postby wez1927 » Tue Aug 09, 2022 11:57 am

Bellamy is a big fan of Isaak who continues to wear the 39 shirt...

Cardiff have rejected a £2.5million bid from Burnley for forward Isaak Davies.

The Bluebirds want a higher fee.

Good. I’m glad the club now got the bollocks to hold out for higher fees for our promising young players. Too often we have just sold to get any little bit of money in. Nothing less than 5m.

We also need a 50% selling on fee clause too

Hopefully they've learnt from their spurs transaction

I’m surprised clubs are willing to make this sort of offer for Davies.

I like him but he’s proved nothing yet and, in my eyes, we’re not even sure of his best position.

Got to say if the offer goes higher I would be tempted if it get us a proven goalscorer.

I'd like to see him in this team, he might be the answer to our problems the midfield would supply him with good chances.

I'm not, it is clear he has huge potential and the more games he plays the more we will see

I'd play him instead of o'dowda rather than through the middle, that seems to be the general consensus among fans anyway

Absolute bullshit been out injured, still not fully recovered and scored 2 in 28 appearances, not a proven striker, another stupid rumour

I 100% agree with this! I can’t wait to see Isaak in this team. He’s always been a handful when he’s been on the pitch and that was in a team of absolute rubbish the last 2 years!!

He blows hot and cold ,he's definitely not a striker ,got bags of pace I see him as a winger but if it ment getting a top striker with the money I would sell him but for a lot more tha 2.5 near 5 million.

If that gives us 2.5m to spend on a proven striker. Then let him go. He's not getting in ahead of Ojo, O'Dowda or Philogene. I'd put him on par with Tanner.

Would you get a proven striker for under 5million? You probably need to find a club who need to sell or a player trying to force a move. Also factor in the wage difference between what Davies is on and a striker on a decent fee would demand.

Well Mr Bellamy thinks he's better than all those, and I tend to agree

£1.5m fee with £1m set aside to cover wages.
I can’t see how he’s proved himself tbh. He’s a prospect, but like all of them, they could go either way. £2.5m with a sell on clauseis good business.

Bellamy has to be behind this interest.

We need to keep him, get him fit and into this team asap.

Very hit and miss that Football Insider page isn't it. If it is true, a large part of me is surprised we haven't accepted that sort of money for him.they certainly would not turn it down

I don't get it with the lad. I'd sell at that valuation.

But I did say the same about Earnshaw early on.

For me, Isaak does not have a good goal scoring record yet! many of his appearances from the bench also, can be a real threat, with goal assists, he will score many more this year when fully fit and plays, and get stronger and stronger with more experience along the way.

One of the best prospects we have produced in years, along with Rubin and Joel Colwill, guess these have had the the chance to leave Cardiff for years, coming up through, but hometown boys, love the club, I see no point in selling any of them now, the value should rise and rise, with goals etc. based on the potential I see know reason why these players can’t develop here and be worth much, much more later.

For me should be a simple not for sale! But that’s just my view.

If we sold Rabbi Matondo to Man City for £500k then £2.5m for Isaak is a steal

I think a move away would suit all parties. He needs 1st team games and we need the money for a striker!

This is an interesting one.

On one hand i would in some ways prefer him over Watters and Harris.

On the other hand £2.5m for him is an amount I would sell at.

We'd then need 2 strikers to come in if we wanted to compete which could be possible off of £2.5m

I would give him a run instead of watters and see how he fits in the new setup before ditching he could come really good with the big guy upfront
