Cardiff City miss out on West Ham Midfielder:

Mon Dec 19, 2022 10:32 am

Lennon Peake was set to sign for the Bluebirds this January as I said weeks ago.

I have just been told City have been stopped from signing Lennon due to the Transfer Embargo.
City have told the family as soon as they can get it lifted he will be the first on their list to sign.

Absolutely gutted as Lennon I said back then and maintain if stays injury free would be class in The Championship.

City had beaten of a number of clubs, so we will def lose out on him.

I have watched Lennon since he was 6yrs old and he had been at West Ham for 14yrs, if he had not had such a bad injury he would of been right up there.
Lennon has recently recovered and after playing for the Bluebirds the other month and scoring away at Charlton, City immediately offered Lennon a 2 yr contract, set to start this January.
He is still currently a West Ham player.

Born: July 22, 2002 (age 20 years)
Current team: West Ham United F.C. under-21 (Midfielder)

It's not that simple. If you already have 23 players registered, you cannot sign anybody, which I believe we have.

We would have to sell or terminate the contract of players, in order to sign anybody.

The full rules are here: https://www.efl.com/-more/governance/em ... gulation(s).

I sure that under 23 don't count in the 23 professionals

There was a lot on the bringing him here as he was not a free transfer.
And wage not really low, plus money after so many appearances etc

Wez,

We’ve honestly lost a very quality player, I said it from day one, if he stays injury free.
Fair play to the scouts in spotting him.

CCFC:

Players can be sold but we cannot buy, or loan players if we have to pay their wages. Unattached players can be signed.
