Fred Keenor Statue

If we do manage to erect a statue of Fred Keenor then how can we guarantee its security? There is a increase in price of metal. There has in turn been an increase in the theft of bronze statues and memorial plaques. There have been statues that have been stolen all over the country. The statue in Thompson's Park has been stolen just recently.

Security can never be 100% guaranteed , but where the statue will be sited (near Gate 3) will be covered by CCTV and will also be clearly visible from Leckwith Road which is busy at all times of the day and night. Any thieves would therefore be very lucky to get away with an attempted "heist".
