Palace at Ninian Late 70's

i remember 2 jack brothers got killed on Ninian park road, by some palace fans.
5th round of the FA cup....i was at that game with me bluebird scarf
can anyone remember what year that was ?

a jack called david williams died stabbed by palace
wasn't there but a jack i know claimed they had a big result against us which is disputed by the city lads i know who were there

Monday, 14th January, 1980. FA cup 3rd round, 2nd replay, Swansea City v Crystal Palace at Ninian Park. A mad & awfull night, & yes, a Swansea fan was stabbed to death on Ninian Park road. I was at the match.

That's my old mans birthday, and 10 days before I was born

2nd replays...those were the days.

Thanks Rick....it was 1980 was it, i was there that night as well, and it was shocking, my memory was quite vague about the incident.....i do know that there were arrests later in london and a conviction and sentence handed out.
i also remember a lot of aggro on the platforms of cardiff central that night.
