" LAMOUCHI: NOT HAPPY WITH THE PERFORMANCE "

Fri Apr 07, 2023 5:36 pm

Cardiff City manager Sabri Lamouchi told BBC Sport Wales: "I'm really happy, it's a massive result to come here in our situation and to win in this way.

"In the second half we didn't control the game. If I'm honest I am so happy for the massive result but about the performance - not so happy.

"But in our situation, as I said to the players, it is three points and now we need to think about Monday against Sunderland."

I don't blame him. As good as the first half performance was all the old frailties re-appeared in the second half and even a slightly better team than Blackpool would have made us pay. We always try and hold on to what we've got instead of trying to double it.

I switched radio off when blackpool scored.. To nervous to listen, knowing how cardiff can let slip a good position.. Still good result.. Gunna need more though.. This is a dog fight till end of season

Agree. Remember a game earlier in the season when Morison was in charge when we were 3 up at half time and only just held on at the end. Forget who it was against.

When we have these leads we need to learn to attack them, not just sit back and invite pressure. If this was against a top 12 team, we probably would have been punished as you say.

But a big, important win that we need to build on when we play on Monday.

I know it was a win against lowly Blackpool and we are where we are but if we had lost or drawn we'd now be below the dotted line, so significant. And I think it's always a good sign when a manager says we need to improve after a 3-1 away win. And so many more dangerous balls into the box today which we've lacked and that creates chances which create goals.

Spot on, Paul. I don't think many were too confident going into the game but the players did their jobs and did them well overall and under the circumstances

I think today probably sealed the fate of Blackpool and Wigan, so that leaves one spot and we'd be in it but for this great win. Bound to give the players a huge boost ahead of a tricky game versus Sunderland on Monday and there can be no excuses re tiredness, as Sunderland had a far tougher and demorakising game today than we did

I just hope our 'floating' supporters turn up on Monday and boost the crowd that will see 2500 Mackems in to support their team... :ayatollah:

Yes mate, it would be great if we get near to the numbers that we had v the jacks as it makes all the difference to the performance. We all know we can create an intimidating atmosphere at the CCS, it was good to see an almost full house last week despite the result and we need to do it on Monday and indeed for the run in, as it makes all the difference. I think we saw a reaction today from the squad as a result of it and also in the manner of the defeat, a point to prove and fire in the belly to do it. Fans today were superb, its all you could hear throughout the game and spurs the boys on.
