Perhaps that finally is the end of Mick the dinosaur. I can understand why he was sacked but equally what did the Blackpool board expect with their squad and injuries? Strange decision in some ways.

Desperation from Blackpool I think, hope for a new manager bounce but as shown by qpr that doesn't always happen. Shouldn't catch us now anyway

Why does Mick keep getting jobs? His flat back 5 at ours was insane. Dai Hunt could probably pick a better 11

Not surprised, he nearly relegated us as well. No idea why he returned when his tactics are outdated.
Great manager 10 years ago maybe but not now. I always said that he should change the way he do things in terms of tactics because if he dont he would get any team relegated. Like him as a manager but stuck in the olden days when managing teams now.

He wasn't sacked. Mutual agreement.

"McCarthy said: "I have thought long and hard and feel this is the best decision for everyone concerned with the football club."
From the BBC, looks like he had a titfull but odd timing.

Not a motivator like warnock and void of any connection with fans the worse i have known as a manager.

You're lucky you didn't witness the likes of Alan Durban, Phil Neal and Russell Osman.

One job too far I think …

Some people put him in the same category as Warnock because they've both had good managerial careers in the EFL.
But the truth is Warnock is still doing well, but McCarthy has struggled in recent jobs - with us and now with Blackpool. I know things didn't go great for Warnock at Boro, but look at the job he's doing at Huddersfield now. McCarthy has not done well in his last two jobs.
I expect this will be the end of McCarthy's managerial career. Sad way for it to end because he was a good manager back in the day.
