Warnockball v "Playing the right way"

Just watching Huddersfield go 2-0 up against a pretty passing triangles team managed by a "young" manager playing the right way.

I know NW is like the devil to some, but his system is entertaining and effective. Getting the ball into the box seems quite effective with championship-level players. Its not mindless whacking it forward like mad Mick in the end, but very quick counters (transitions in modern day speak) and making defenders and goalies work for their money.

Still hoping Blackburn come back for all their possession.

On train to game, Hudds fans saying Warnock has got them playing aggressively and they look like a different team. Warnock doesn't play mindless hoofball, he gets the ball quickly into the final third and then plays football there. I like it and it works, as proven again at Huddersfield.

I agree but in general, your players are not good enough to survive anyway.

In the championship, you either have great athletes but poorer footballers or great footballers who are not that athletic. If you are lucky enough to snag one of those who have both they inevitably end up in the premier league. So you need a system designed for your squad or a squad for your system.

The jacks went for footballers who were not normally considered athletic enough for the championship and had the pick of the crop for a good while when we were going for 6'1" athletes, but now everyone has caught up.

I prefer Klopp to Pep so am closer to Warnock but never let him near the chequebook

I was delighted when warnock came to our club even though we should have had him fifteen years earlier but soon has it went wrong he left that’s why I’m glad he didn’t come back if he couldn’t put it right then how could he put it right if he came back

We've scored 33 goals this year. 3rd lowest in the league tiers. Forest Green & Gillingham have 29, rock bottom of L1 and 19th in L2 respectively (games played is a small variable).

Less goals = worse style in my opinion. We pass better but are soft as shit. Give me direct over this and more goals/points any day of the week.
