MY VIEW: THIS MATCH WAS TO SEE IF WE COULD FINALLY BEAT OR EVEN GET A POINT FROM A TOP 10 TEN TEAM UNDER LAMOUCHI.

WITHOUT A DOUBT THIS WAS A WINNABLE GAME.

Cardiff had only 29% possession and over all dire.

For me this is worrying as we cant beat the teams in the top half and this puts us back to 21st position

Lamouchi struggles against any top half team.

Sunderland had nothing to play for.

We are once again struggling upfront, we celebrate with a win against awful Blackpool, but struggle against teams above us

3pts badly dropped and we are now relying on other results.

Sabri Lamouchi: Played 12 Won 4 Drawn 1 Lost 7

FIRST-HALF:Sunderland the better team.

36th min: Philogene off for Rinomhota and Simpson on for Ojo.

38th min: Goal... no, offside for Sunderland! Clarke is found with a brilliant cross and he heads home - but he is offside! :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Cardiff did come back in the game and had their chances.

Over all very dire and boring by Cardiff.

H-T 0-0

SECOND-HALF:

46th min: 3rd Sub: Etete on for Wickham.

60th min: GOAL! Cardiff City 0-1 Sunderland (Cerkin 60)
Goal.
Alsop awful

61 min: Ralls on for Sawyers.

Cardiff finally woke up and did go for it.

79th min: Davies on for Romeo.

80th min: Great block from Kipre to deny Gelhardt., Hand ball, should be 2nil.

Poor performance again and now 2 difficult away games,we really are relying on others now.

First 30 mins was absolutely shit awful. Second half much better but yet again final third let us down .That first 30 mins set us up for nothing .Some players need to look in the mirror.
Lacklustre to say the least and id we go down we will deserve it.
Games running out Sheffield next is it oh god .
Keep believing thats all we can do have be more urgent than that today though.

We are going down. Certainly will be in the relegation zone next weekend after Sheffield game. We were pathetic today.

Very frustrating and very strange game.
I like Lamouchi but he chose the wrong team set up today.
Wickham was knackered and should not have started, other players were out of position etc.
Sunderland had younger fitter players. We needed Etete and Davies playing.
But it was also strange because although we can’t complain that Sunderland took the points, we had more clearcut chances, and Kabacould have had a hat trick.
Sadly three vital points dropped! :bluebird:

Realistically we have 9 points to play for, we'll not get anything from Watford, Burnley and Sheff Utd away.

Can't see us beating Warnock's Huddersfield. Typical Warnock winning games with 20% possession.

That leaves us with Stoke and Rotherham. We will need two wins there and some crossed fingers.

To be honest I can see one win and maybe a draw.

Sabri was right, we just don't have the quality. Thata the bottom line.

Yes exactly this

It's getting embarrassing relying on other clubs being deducted points to keep us up.

The reality at Blackpool was we only played for 20 minutes.

We got our goals in that 20 minutes and yes the 3 points but for the rest of the game we lost it against a poor side. We looked absolutely shattered after Blackpool and today it look like we had not recovered from the seaside trip.

For me now 2 sides are already down. Will we join them?

Awful Annis, worst I’ve seen us all season. Can’t do the basics right.

It was terrible. Not sure what else to say, put a few of my thoughts in other topics.

But the key point is the lack of fight and my lack of hope.

More dire served up like you said if it wasn't for the 20mins vs Blackpool we wouldn't have come away with anything imo. It's nothing more than I expected from this squad in truth. I said it before a ball was kicked this season and sadly its going to the wire like I expected. You get what you pay for in most cases and thats where we are right now. If there was some fight today I'd get it but just dreadful is the only word I can think of. :ayatollah:

Lacked fight, no energy, no clue. Finger pointing from the start.
Phillogene was receiving treatment before start, body language suggested he wasn't up for it or carring effects of Blackpool game. Wickham just waste of space.
Who was on corner duty... no one even noticed.... finally OJO went over... & less said about him the better. Dire lackluster performance with us only heading one direction

Re: MY VIEW: THIS MATCH WAS TO SEE IF WE COULD FINALLY BEAT

Mon Apr 10, 2023 5:12 pm

Awful set up from the off.
Lamouchi should take a good look in the mirror.
Ojo - not a wing back. Felt sorry for him as no cover for him either.
Sawyers - no fkn urgency
Should not have taken off Philogene - one of our few players who can turn a game.

If we play like that against Sheff Utd we'll get battered

We should win against Rottenham ... but this is Cardiff City we're talking about.

I can see us needing a point against Huddersfield and playing out a bore draw under manager's instructions.

Is this lack of desire or are they just not very good ?

How many of this squad (our players) would get into any of the previous championship teams or even Lenny's promotion team ?

O'Dowda would be a squad player and that its.

Perry - give me Peltier any day not even talking about Bruno
Wintle - Squad at best, against a 25-year-old Ralls, would barely start

The well run clubs "missed" out on Sawyers and Ojo
Etete, Davies would have been loaned and then loaned again, never starting in the championship.....

We got Sawyers and Ojo for another year :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Absolutely shocking 90mins, the kids match at half time was more entertaining and showing passion and desire.

Ojo got royally fucked when they pulled Romeo over to the right and have Philogene move to the left but ended up more toward midfield behind Kaba and Wickham. There wasn’t really any passion to get out the box, 2nd half they seemed to tab out (not a walk and not a jog) towards half way when they could have pushed up field and broke away.

Kaba needs to carry on towards goal looking for rebounds instead of stopping and complaining when Etete took the shot instead of passing.

Looked like 2 handballs as well in the 2nd half neither given by the ref. Over all it was a piss poor performance and we deserve to go down with that attitude.

Ref had a mismatch game, think he should have produced more cards to Sunderland than just the 1 but hey-ho it’s done.

We can’t rely on other teams to help us out, today we got lucky with other results but we need to push on and secure our place in the Championship by winning our own games

That was so f*cking depressing, had a feeling we would be lethargic from all these games but that was dreadful .
Why did we try and start playing when Sunderland scored ? And why did it seem that we were mid table and Sunderland were playing to stay up ???

So less than 21k for a bank holiday game. Poor.

But they can't expect much with the team they're offering up.

Will be back to 14k for the last two home games. Maybe even less for Huddersfield because it's on Sky.

If you look at his record so far in 12 games he can’t beat one good side

We are No better of under him so far.

We are still 21st

Played 12. Won 4 Drawn 1 Lost 7

And only because Reading lost 6pts

To me it seems we are struggling in all areas on the pitch and you could see that Sunderland had done their homework and knew we were weak down our left side, they must have watched what happened to us against The Jacks. With only 2 home games left now and 4 aways I cannot see how we are going to get enough points to stay up, hope I am wrong but I fear the worst after todays awful display.
