Sabri Lamouchi Today:

“We have the wrong mentality.”

"We have probably lost the rhythm since the Swansea game.”

“ We finish [games] better than we start, that is the problem. Against Swansea, you cannot start worse than this game. And you cannot concede a goal in this way today, with two lines in the wall, to make a stupid goal and concede in this way.”

“We’ve missed a lot of opportunities, we miss consistency, we miss character, we miss personality. We need all of that if we want to stay in the Championship, and we need to think about that.

“This Club, these fans and these people deserve to be in the Championship next season.”

Not a time to turn on the manager.

Unlike many he tried to influence the game early on when he could see it wasn’t working.

I must admit I’m surprised at WalesonLine reporting saying how poor we were. The first half we were poor but 2nd half even though it wasn’t fluid we gave it a go and at least deserved a point.

What is happening (today and the Jacks) are too many individual errors. That goal today should never have gone in ! If you’re in a defensive wall you don’t break it, Etete did and Allsop had no chance of making a proper save as a result.

Other results weren’t too bad for us but we need to get at least 2 wins and a draw. 2 wins and a draw will only do if the two wins are against Huddersfield and Rotherham in my opinion.

Not turning, I can say how I feel our managers have done after 12 games in charge, I always do.

Is this not a forum and are we not allowed to give opinions?? ???

Are yiu ny giving your opinion?

He got today and the Jacks tactics wrong.

I wasn’t saying you were turning in the manager !! I know you think I disagree with everything you say automatically but I don’t !!

I think your facts speak for themselves, I just think Lamouchi is being proactive and trying to change the mindset of the players in a short space of time with just the players he inherited.

I like his style, I like how he changes things when players aren’t doing what he’s asked them to do and like the fact that he really cares and is passionate about a club he only recently joined.

I hope he keeps us up if only to give him a pre-season and chance to mould the squad into his image. If we get relegated he won’t want to stay and we start the managerial shenanigans all over again and will end up with a manager of lower quality.

I like him as a manager and think he's done well but you're spot on, last two home games have been tactically wrong.

Both game we could have got at least a draw from so that's two points we've missed out on.

Without points deductions for other teams, we'd be bottom three. Sadly I think that's where we deserve to be and where we'll end up.

Sadly whatever we think about the manager, I doubt shankly, stein, clough, ferguson a nd many others couldn't get a tune out of the many (but not all) sa ps we've got on the pitch. Today and loads of other performance s this season have confirmed that.
This is of course all down to the owner , the appointment of two totally inexperienced managers co mbined with a team made of of mainly free transfers leads inevitably to the situation we 're in .
We had our warning last season and did not heed it. It doesn't surprise me in the least and you don't have to be Nostradamus to see it.
Indeed next season it could be worse most of our better players are loan players like kipre , soryand Philogene (as per last season) Doyle and Hughill, will return to their own clubs. Ralls has been a great player for years but is now getting past it. Allsopp came with a great reputation but quite frankly seems to be pretty average. We've got three perhaps four that I'd keep (write your own list) but the rest are either not good enough or can't be bothered.
Tan is still living in a dream world best quote this season being "the fans should be happy". Last season we all knew we needed a centre forward for 8 months and finally we signed Robinson 8 games in on deadline day. Shows the forward planning we lack. If keep the current manager, he's called it as it was today not good enough, he was big enough to use his substitutes early, I think a more experienced manager like him is more likely to attract better players albeit probably another load of freebies but he being more experienced may be able to persuade tan to spend the 10 million we need to spend on 5 players to make us in to a decent team.

Stats based opinion is problematic with this Manager.. he took on a desperate situation. A Tradesman with blunt tools.

The position might be the same but there are a few more teams in danger of going down from the above date .

For me it’s time to really get the points, 6pts from these 3 games:

The first anything is a bonus, the other two games both winnable, Watford have struggled lately.

Sat Apr 15 – Sheffield United (A)

Wed Apr 19 – Watford (A)

Sat Apr 22 – Stoke City (H)

I hope he keeps us up, he will have had 18 games to do it and we were never & have never been in the bottom 3 this season.

If he keeps us up, he deserves a chance of a new contract for next season.

If we go down he failed and it was down to him.

SABRI LAMOUCHI:

"You need consistency in the Championship.”

"If you aren’t consistent you are where you are in the table . We know we will fight until the end and that it will be tough, really tough. I knew that from the beginning.”

"The table was exactly the same two months ago. Unfortunately we didn’t change our position in the table, the table does not lie.”

“I said to my players, I came here for two reasons, for the club and the quality in the squad as the quality is enough to stay in the Championship. But I said as well, probably we will need to fight until the last game so we must be ready for that. In one moment I was thinking we were doing well, but we miss consistency.”

“If you aren’t consistent in the Championship, you deserve to be where you are and you will be there for a lot of reasons. It is not time to discuss this, it is time to be positive, honest and try to give your best. We didn’t give our best in the first half today.”

Lets see if Tan lives up to his words of "10 years in the Premier". We all know he will need to invest to do that, £10 million will be a start.

All I see is another season of cut backs. We might survive this season but not next. The squad we go with will tell us all of his ambitions.

That’s where we’ll disagree!!

If we go down it’s down to the board for being too quick to fire Morison and down to Hudson and the lack of results in his time.

You wouldn’t blame Warnock if Huddersfield went down !! Lamouchi inherited a team in a downward spiral, he’s got us organised but where we will agree is that the first half yesterday wasn’t good enough.

18 games is way less than half a season to turn it around!!

Re: ‘ Sabri Lamouchi So Far ‘

Tue Apr 11, 2023 7:42 am

This is on Tan, and i am definitely not in the anti brigade.

The Morison decision was insane and it has since been shown.

The margins are fine. All championship clubs have a suite of analysts and scouts some have DOF's or sporting directors, and some have owners/chairmen with good knowledge but everyone knows you live and die by recruitment, as it is in a normal business, but the effects are far quicker realized.

Klopp hasn't turned into a shit coach or game manager overnight, he just hasn't the tools he once had as the players got older, some left and the recruits are not hitting the expected returns. Ultimately it's on Klopp and the club as he was part of the recruitment decisions. Same with us !!!

We have no pace, no creativity, and no forwards, that was on Morison but he should never have had the responsibility so it's on Vincent Tan and seeing as he owns us the value of his asset is going to take another hit.
