“ They are sinking like a stone “

Thu Apr 13, 2023 5:31 am

QPR have lost 9 of their last 11 games and drawn the other 2 games and only won 1 game in their last 18 games.

QPR (20th - 43 pts)

Coventry City (h)

Norwich City (h)

Burnley (a)

Stoke City (a)

Bristol City (h)

QPR have sunk like a stone in the last few months, having won just one of their last 18 games.

Gareth Ainsworth was appointed in February, and has brought a few interesting methods with him. But they will need a lot more than a dressing room Haka if they're to avoid League One football next season. Indeed, they were smashed 6-1 by a Blackpool side that have been utterly horrid for most of the season shortly just after that bizarre viral stunt.

A 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion has gone some way to stopping a rot that's still on the precipice of turning gangrenous, but it's hard to see where the next win is coming from at the moment.

Play-off hopefuls Coventry City and Norwich City are round the corner, followed by a trip to champions-elect Burnley.

Ainsworth may well be hoping that Stoke and Bristol City, who look unlikely to have anything meaningful to play for, will have rolled out their towels on the proverbial beach in the last couple of games.

We need to concentrate on competing for every point we can and ignore what’s happening elsewhere.

It goes without saying that the team's focus should be on winning or salvaging at least a point out of every game but the reality is that many of us have been watching how our rivals have been doing as unfortunately this season it has come into play, and it's the first time I've felt the real possibility of relegation in decades and it's a big concern. Indeed, if it wasn't for Reading being docked points, we'd now be in the bottom 3.

I know we were robbed of 3 points by Rotherham but watching the Sunderland game it seemed like after the Lord Mayors show of Blackpool and we are not playing with the aggressive consistency of a team fighting for survival.

I agree completely. For whatever reason, there has been huge inconsistency this season. I’m certain that the manager will be doing all he can to get the team to concentrate on these vital games. There are no excuses.

I agree, BBC Wales ridiculously posted a comment that Reading survived on 41 pts a few years nack and we already have 42?! If they are saying se can lose all our remaining games and stay up then they are in cloud cuckoo land.

What I will say, and its my opinion, with a tiny sprinkling of hearsay, that there is far more going on at both QPR and Reading than thwm just losing games and playing badly, so if they do get above us by the end of the season ill be disappointed!

We need to concentrate on ourselves swansea had a similar run as QPR then won 3 out of 4. Anything can happen and we have already benefitted from other clubs losing points. Eventually our luck will run out if we rely on others

QPR - Have the worst points won after the World Cup from any of the 4 Divisions Clubs .

Agree with most of the above posts - We need to worry about what we do firstly :bluebird:
