Nice to see somewhere actively dealing in cash.

This cashless nonsense is abhorrent. Some folk are only able to cope with cash, from a budget point of view and also an ability aspect.

It bothers me not to use cash or card, but this shift to cashless is worrying. Many disabled/less able folk find cash easier to deal with, in all senses.

I have a disabled mate, who needs cash to be able to budget - he has a set of envelopes that contain x amount for various things and he can quickly get a handle on what he's paid out and what is yet to be paid. He has a checklist to work from for his main bills and a set chunk for food and fun. When its gone he can clearly see its gone and on what.

When they tried to get him to go cashless he got himself into some right pickles with bills going unpaid and money being spent on stuff he had fancyings for, rather than essentials.

The cashless advocating businesses soon change their tune when the phone goes down that provides the link to their precious cashless systems - we hear, granted not that often that staff are like headless chickens, places shutting until its fixed - all because some clown refuses or policy dictates that cash is not acceptable.

Just think - no more car boot sales, school fetes, £5/10 in a birthday card, £5 to the window cleaner...

I'm no tin foil hatter, but we must retain all payment types from the most basic paper/metal discs right through to the latest electronic wizardry. People function in different ways and to be fully inclusive all payment types must be treated equally from the point of view of the end consumer.

Everywhere should be able to accept both types of payment, cash for us :old: and cashless for the youngsters who seem to lose their mind when asked to pay in cash.
