Cardiff City Trust request a meeting with Ken Choo
Proposed Meeting with Ken Choo
Dear Member,
The situation on the pitch at the club is worrying at the moment and is
understandably occupying our thoughts.
However, the off the field issues:
Relating to ongoing litigation, transfer embargo etc. still remain a matter of concern.
To this end I have requested a meeting with Club CEO Ken Choo. An initial date for a meeting was suggested by Ken which I could not make but I am currently trying to rearrange at the earliest opportunity. As soon as it takes place I will update members.

I really don't see what these meeting do. Ken Choo will only reply with what we already know.
If the intention is to find out what Tan intends to do then we will be wasting our time as Choo will not tell us. We will get the usual Vincent Tan has the interests of the club at heart. Well the only way we will find that out is by his actions over the summer.

Ian,
I see the meetings as a total waste of time as they don’t ask demanding answers or strong questions.

The Trust!!! Oh dear.. that's where they go in ask questions roll over and agree with everything that Dalman says.
Annis you are correct - we need demanding answers and maybe an open forum not so called trusts/fan leaders (neither represent me) however that's unlikely to happen.
We are f*cking doomed, until Tan sells up that is it simple as that. Best just get used to it

I have said on here many times....Tan is a meglamaniac who is happy to destroy our club, money is irrelevant to him as he has an unlimited supply of it.

That would be a move forward if they did.
I feel a lot more of us are realising what game this regime is playing. What their aim is the bit that is difficult to work out. Some are now saying it to finish the club off. Well I can't agree with them on that yet but whatever it is not good for the club. I can see this getting a lot worse before it gets slightly better.

I certainly think he is happy to keep us in a low position providing its not going to cost him much.

Completely pointless - They will be fed what Choo and the gang decide on the day
The trust carries no clout whatsoever bet Tan is quaking in his boots

There is a difference between a request and a demand but the request has resulted in the offer of meeting

Yes , on this occasion as the meeting is to get answers from the club on specific matters such as the current transfer embargo position following discussions the Trust has had with the EFL.
The previous three meetings between club directors and fans involved a wider range of fans` with the most recent meeting involving representatives including the Trust the official Supporters Club , the Disabled Supporters Association and independent travel groups.
At the previous meeting the Chair Mehmet Dalman agreed to attend an even wider and much bigger group of fans and asked that this be arranged by the Supporters Trust and Supporters Club. I haven`t heard yet as to a date and venue for this but it will give even more chance for fans to raise matters of concern that they would prefer not to raise through the existing fans` representatives groups.

Unless you have knowledge to the contrary (in which case please tell us) we don`t know what the actual conditions of the current transfer embargo are and what the club needs to do to fully clear the restrictions (the EFL won`t say and just refer the query back to the club) , where the club currently stands with legal actions involving the Swiss Federal Tribunal (i.e are they still proceeding with this and , if so, has a timeframe been set for this) and the insurers.
So answers given by Ken Choo to the questions put to him will provide information that we don`t already know.

Your comment about the Trust rolling over and agreeing with everything said by the club is totally untrue , as would be confirmed by anyone actually attending such meetings rather than on hearsay or claims to suit an agenda.
I have answered elsewhere in this thread about the different groups that attend these meetings (groups that any fan is free to join ) and also about the plan to have a meeting involving far larger numbers of fans.

How do you ask a demanding question Annis - that simply doesn`t make sense? Did you mean a demanding question?

The Trust does carry clout , being the only fans` representative club at CCFC recognised by both the national Football Supporters Association and the Financial Conduct Authority. It is written in the current Government White Paper which will become legislation that this influence will grow as it is enacted and corporate governance of football will be strengthened.

Out of interest, it may been mentioned before but how many members/season ticket holders are in the Trust and the DSA?
Tue Apr 18, 2023 8:19 pm
We fans have no control over our club, sadly.
All we can do is sing, shout, boo and wave the banners around.
The board are happy to just do nothing and say what tan wants to hear.
Memet said himself he has no control over things at the club so why is he there i will never know.
Ken Choo is only there for Tan. And tells him what he wants to hear.
We fans will always be kept in the dark over everything in the club we love.
Shame because the future has never looked so uncertain, i mean will we have a new manager?
All we know is that we wont be spending anything until we sell the players we got.
If i was in charge this club would have the biggest turnaround in its history.

So what real answers did we get from previous meetings?? Just puppets avoiding answering the real questions and palm it off on tan as they can't or won't answer. Like politicians paid liars imo. Some real answers or a waste of time as usual I suspect. End of the day it comes down to £ we don't have and tan does while the puppets within take there wonga.

Odd isn't it. The last two 'significant' interviews were given by MD and VT. KC's last one was just for his car lot. The former last summer on an very amateur social channel and VT's more of a statement to WOL where he moaned about losing money, that the fans should be happy and we will have another crack at the PL with this squad with the usual 'bit of luck' and then stay there ten years.
As much as I applaud the idea of this wider fan meeting, we all know we won't get any real answers, if they cared we'd already know as they'd be engaged with us or at the very least, show up for a few games a season.
I'm all done with empty platitudes, time for the Stooges to go now after their turn and honour us in securing a credible owner and as promised, leaving the club in a better place than when they took over, as that was what was stated by VT.
And all that said, I know that we will all always be behind the team, whoever the owner or whatever our position. And the team certainly need need us now for sure.

I agree with your last statement but I dont think many of those players really give a toss, the loanees will go back to their clubs in the Championship, Premier League and Kaba back to Champions League footy, the rest all of a sudden will think they are better than they are and want to move. We are the only ones who give a shit and it is sad to say we all just stand by and let it happen and blame the Trust for not asking hard enough questions...

For me Tan has opened himself up to be shot when he said 10 years in the Premier.
Atm that looks like decades away and the only way we are going to get there is for him to invest. Then that could be risky with FFP as I believe we would be looking around £25m to get back to the Premier. What are you allowed to spend over a 3 season period, you can go into debt by £39m?
So when he broadcasted that statement off all we can do is see if he is serious about that by his actions this summer.

Here's my honest take.
Over the years, I have loudly sounded my opinion. Ive been shot down a number of times, which is fine, its opinions at the end of the day. I have no crystal ball and I had no crystal ball. A few years back however, it very much looked, in my opinion that this was how it would all end up.
Interestingly however having spoken to many numbers of fans, the last three or four months, I have really taken stock. My views on the Regime havent changed, but this is a really desperate and decisive time for the club.
Its very serious and Tan is taking us down the road of destruction. Me shouting loudly does nothing, its like waiting for the inevitable. As such I have tried to be very supportive of the team on the pitch.
It is only fan power in its fullness, and fan pressure to its maximum degree that will force change.
I do however have a feeling the winds of change are gathering. There are now too many that are unhappy and see the real picture. Fans, ex players, pundits.
I'll do my bit, but this summer will be pivotal to our future.
