' CARDIFF CITY A STATE OF EMERGENCY SAYS '

Ex-Cardiff striker Robert Earnshaw has branded the Bluebirds' situation as a "state of emergency" and believes the club is too big to drop into League One.

Lamouchi called out the players' attitude after their limp performance in the 1-0 defeat at home to Sunderland last week and Earnshaw believes it was the right thing for him to do as it sparked a turnaround at Sheffield United, despite the result, and at Watford on Wednesday night.

ROBERT EARSHAW:

"It was great management," Earnshaw said. "Sometimes you've got to let the players know publicly too and tell them you're unhappy. I'm sure they would have told them in the dressing room, too.

"When they dropped points against Sunderland, and that performance, for him it was not the right attitude from his team. The players have to understand that. It's an emergency now for Cardiff City in the next few weeks that they stay in the Championship.

"If the performances, fight, determination, spirit and quality isn't there and it drops, that's not good enough for you to play in a Cardiff City shirt. It really is a state of emergency. Because Cardiff City is too big to go down a league. Minimum, they have to stay in the Championship."
