Transfer status question?

Can some explain our current transfer status and if we're under some kind of embargo what we have to do to get out of it?

Yes we are still in a Transfer Embargo and until 2 more payments are made for Emiliano Sala as it’s now been 4 years , then the Embargo will not be lifted.

The first instalment cost our club an extra £2mill in fines , interest and costs.

There is a small chance if the 2nd was paid then it might get lifted, but that’s a might?

Thanks Annis, so pay the installments and we're good to go, pay one and it might be lifted. So we can only loan players until this happens?

Just pay the fee and claim it back by suing nantes or claim it back if we get it overuled by a judge. If we dont get the embargo lifted we are in danger of going down again next season

That's pretty much how I see it now; if Vincent Tan truly believes he can win the war, he should pay the money the Courts say is legally owed, have the embargo lifted and take on those actually responsible away from the playing side of the club...

Going to be a make or break summer no matter what djvision we are in next season (hopefully the same one as this) :ayatollah:

The worry is in some ways that if we do stay up this season Tan will believe that we'll be able to stay up again next season by doing exactly what he's done this season.

Looks like the club have no intention of paying the other instalments to Nantes and if they had wanted to be able to buy players for next season they would have ensured that the first instalment was paid within the 30 day deadline they were given but either the club deliberately chose not to do that fully knowing that the embargo would be in place or yet again somebody at the club fucked up by not making the payment in time.

Last we heard from the politician at the end of the transfer window was that they were working hard on getting the embargo lifted and were confident that they could do so.

Since then only silence.

Perhaps if they'd worked harder at getting the first instalment paid on time we'd be in a position to buy some decent players during the summer.

When our loan players go back we're left with a core of players who have shown this season that they're not good enough.

Unless something changes next season we'll just struggle again and we'll be extremely lucky not to be relegated.
