There is the small matter of Cardiff fans harbouring

There is the small matter of Cardiff fans harbouring some grievances about the game being postponed midway through the match, with the club itself airing their own frustrations to the league.

Cardiff were winning one nil at half-time, but who knows how the second-half would of turned out?

Sabri Lamouchi:

"It's a really important game for both teams," Lamouchi added. "I don't just feel bad, more than that, but I have to take care about what I say, because I don't want to punish my club for nothing. It is what it is."

For the supporters and the players, there is of course an extra added incentive to this match. Not only can their team bolster their own position in the table, but they can take points away from a direct relegation rival.

Asked if what happened last time would fuel the fire and add motivation for his players, the Bluebirds boss replied: "I hope so!

"It's a good momentum. Sheffield was not a great result but a great performance. Watford was a perfect result in a good time against a strong opponent. And then a point against Stoke. The players show us they want to get the points."

Cardiff find themselves three points above the relegation zone with three games to play, one more than all three teams who find themselves in the bottom three.

But as we get closer to the end of the campaign, it is more difficult to put a precise number on how many points City need in their final matches to secure safety, especially with a number of the bottom sides having to play each other before the season is through.

When asked how many points he thought Cardiff needed, Lamouchi replied: "I don't know. We have a minimum point, mathematically, to get out. But I prefer to be in my position.

"But I remember day one, in the stadium, in the press room with you guys [the media]. The players, at this moment, they would have signed to be where we are three games from the end.

"We need to finish the job and let three teams minimum be underneath us. It is not easy. The game tomorrow will be tough and (the ground) will be full.

"I don't know how many points. Game by game. We have three games to play, others have two. It's not a bonus - because, to be fair, we deserve more points - we need to play the game. I hope, after this one, we will have more points than now, one, three, I don't know."
