NOW BETWEEN READING AND HUDDERSFIELD

Mon May 01, 2023 2:10 pm

Rotherham Water Babies today beat 4th placed Middlesbrough in their penultimate game to jump ahead of the Bluebirds in the table on goal difference and secure their Championship position for next season

Now only Reading or Huddersfield remain to take that last drop position

Aye and if Huddersfield win that one, most likely and we lose to Burnley, most likely, we can count our lucky stars for that 6 point Reading deduction.

Or we could be ruing Saba Kaba's successive penalty misses...

So many factors involved, including our own feeling of safety for the Huddersfield game, which we might have approached differently

The end of season always throws up a number of 'odd' results and this is no different

Personally, I hope it's Reading who go down. Not because of Neil Warnock but because they should have been relegated last season for their off-field antics

Chris, I know it’s great to be safe. But Lamouchi took over when 17 games ago and we were never in the bottom 3 anyway, For me where is the improvement ?

Our home record is diabolical under Lamouchi and we had a 6pt cushion and as I said we never were in the bottom 3, Since then Wigan have had 3pts deducted

Cardiff go back down to 20th position:

Cardiff are now back in 20th position one place lower than when Sabri Lamouchi arrived, but are safe from relegation:

Are you saying that you don't want him to stay next season ? I'm not sure either way but what is or will be out there that is both better & that will come here? Hope Reading go down because they cheated & got caught so they deserve it.

Chris, Reading looking the more likely hudders only need a point but if reading win 2 nil and hudders lose 1 nil reading will survive on goal difference

Playing each other on the final day so Reading just need to win Roger.

But it's all over if Huddersfield get a point against Sheffield United on Thursday.

It's the game of the day by far...! :ayatollah:

Bit rum to blame Lamouchi.. the squad was thereabouts consistent in the league table. A Manager who works for Tan is one who cannot manage.

Huddersfield v Sheff Utd - 4th May and then .... Huddersfield v Reading on the 8th May .

Actually, if you look at the figures we were on a downhill spiral when Lamouchi came here:

Morrison Played 10 Won 3 Drew 2 Lost 5 - 11 out of 30 points - Success rate 36.66%

Hudson Played 17 Won 4 Drew 6 Lost 7 - 18 out of 51 points - Success rate 35.29 %

Lamouchi Played 17 Won 6 Drew 2 Lost 9 - 20 out of 51 points - Success rate 39.21%

When you consider that he took on a squad that was not his, could not buy players and brought in the player on loan that is now city's top scorer, I honestly believe he saved this club from relegation. Hudson wouldn't have! Lamouchi deserves to be here next season and more so, I think we need him to be here next season.

If we don't keep him then a team with ambition will definitely take him.

He was given Kaba mind, the others didn't really have him and he got us most of those points.

But I agree overall the squad he inherited was weak and so short on confidence and he lost Robinson for most of his games which also made staying up more difficult.

Annis, apologies for the delay but you know I am away at the minute

It is indeed good to be safe and to some extent it matters not how but simply that we did. Sabri Lamouchi guided us to that safety when the vast majority of us had lost faith in Mark Hudson

Reading are victims of their own crime and no sympathy from me. They deserved relegation last season and they look likely to get it this season :ayatollah:

Would like a Hudderfield loss tonight against Sheff U just to take it to the last game of the season.

Much more exciting, well, for non Reading / Hudderfield fans.

Reading are due a relegation though as they have had pint deductions in the last two seasons.

I see Jobi MacAnuff fears that they may fall through League One as well.
