Why does this place whatever it is have a French flag on it?

Looks like a windup social media account to me but I am a cynical old man :old:

Peake and leahy

Both been let go apparently. According to twitter.....

I'll be shocked if this is true.

I don't how long Peake's contract wad, but assumed it would have been until next summer at least. He's evidently done very well for the U21s.

Would sum the club up right now though if it is true.

My understanding was until the end of the season with an option for another year...

Has done well and the manager/coaches have apparently been impressed, so it doesn't makes sense and I sincerely hope the report is wrong...

But as we know, this is Cardiff City FC :(

Ned,

I am shocked as well because I was with his parents over here 3nights ago and nothing was said.
Well if it’s true we shall see, to be honest it is a total shock as he is one of the better players of a squad of U21’s that have been garbage for 2yrs.

Well he’s better than the rest of them, they’ve been a complete shambles for the last 2 yrs.

Lennon was offered that, but his Father wanted to see how he liked it down here first.

I rang them last night he’s had 4 offers from clubs in and outside London.

Hope this is shite unless of course the lad wants to head home.

The clips of the other lad i seen he looks a decent prospect too. Not good news if true.

Pretty certain I've seen this account posting shite before.
Be surprised if true, thought both were highly thought of.

It has a tad more traction as a story if we now know his father didn't want an 18 month contract.

Re: Peake being released?

Sat May 06, 2023 12:40 pm

Has he been released as not good enough. Or come to then end of his contract and decided to go elsewhere and refused a new contract ?

Re: Peake being released?

Sat May 06, 2023 3:28 pm

Clearly he has potential but hes not been ripping up trees in the games I've seen him. To be fair hes had a serious injury and has been playing himself back to fitness. There is a risk to giving him a long term contract and if we have a limited budget I want us to go for experience not young gambles. I'll wait to see the retained list though first as the Twiiter post looks dubious.

Agree with this, not at the moment showing the potential that has been stated on here due to the injury he had, but will as stated above wait until the retained list is out.

Yep, I’ve watched him and even in an ordinary team he hasn’t stood out in any way. I’m not saying he hasn’t got talent, but he hasn’t shown it in the games I’ve seen.

I think I’m more worried about the fact they only wanted to sign a short term contract and then, all of a sudden, the father says they have offers from London clubs !!

On the face of it, sounds like we’ve been used rather than the club messed up !! Of course, two sides to every story but let’s see who’s on the retained list and then see where some of those released end up !!

Used is not the way it was. Lennon wanted to come here and his family supported that decision in the face of several other offers at the time of signing...

If anything, the Bluebirds messed him about more than a little and it was no surprise when his dad, a friend of Forever Blue, decided his son should sign a short-term deal rather than commit to a lengthy one to see how the land lied...

The club were at times been unprofessional in their handling of the initial signing by not keeping him up to speed and in the dark for periods of time...

Added that his initial admirers amingst the coaching staffs (Morison and Hudson) had moved on, it was a bonus that he still signed for us. Subsequently, Sabri Lamouchi has also gone public on his admiration of the player...

I don't know the value of the initial 'released' tooic but as I stated above, I would be both surprised and disappointed

I have no way of knowing whether they messed him about or not.

However, most importantly, do you think that he has impressed since he has been with us ?

My view is he hasn’t so, in fairness to others in the same boat, he has to be measured on performance, not reputation or who knows who.

No he did not impress massively as he was so unfit and had to hang around 2months due to our embargo.

Let’s just see where he goes from here that for me will tell if City missed out or did right.

I'm surprised about leahy. Every time I watched them he played brilliant. Gear link play, finds pockets well and eye for a pass.
Strange for me that one.
