“He wants to stay at Cardiff, but we are not in a position

Mon May 08, 2023 5:49 am

He wants to stay at Cardiff but we are not in a position to offer him anything.

Cedric Kipre wants to stay at Cardiff City but the club are unlikely to be able to get him back, Cardiff City manager Sabri Lamouchi has said.

Kipre has been an ever-present at the heart of the defence.

“He has asked me if he can stay next season, but unfortunately he can’t as we are powerless.”

"But West Brom want him again, because he played well. So, they are happy with this loan, we made the job for them. “

“They want himwith the club or maybe to sell him somewhere else.” a

“We cannot buy any players at the moment. Kaba wants to stay, Kipre wants to stay, Jaden enjoyed playing with us, but it is what it is and we know the rules. Unfortunately they have to go back, we won’t be able to buy players this summer.”

“He will head back to West Brom, where he has a year left to run on his current deal, and either player there or be sold elsewhere, according to Lamouchi. With Cardiff under an EFL ban which prohibits them from spending money, it looks highly unlikely he will return.

Slight problem is even if he pays it there is no guarantee that EFL will lift embargo!!!

With that JB and The Riddler there we haven't a hope in hell.

If it is not lifted and all paid up then there is no more of an offence. So VT can sue the EFL for restriction of buisiness.
I cannot understand this as, as if eufa/ fifa, whichever one has lifted the ban is ok with it, and the embargo is not listed on the EFL website, where in hell does it state we are still under an embargo ????

Roger,

Correct if Tan finally paid up and they continued the Embargo he could sue and he lives his court cases and suing.

The club keep saying we are and even Lamouchi now.

Annis looks like we have had it for buying players for the three windows BUT, if we pay the full amount then then we have paid the transfer fee so the embargo should then be lifted, fingers crossed.
If a transfer fee is not paid then a club cannot register any new players.

The second part of this embargo, though, is important for how Cardiff are able to go about their business.

The EFL rule that if an embargo has been in place for more than 30 days then the club are prohibited from paying a fee for a player for three windows.

As we understand it, the EFL assert the club were notified of the embargo more than 30 days before paying the £7m to Nantes this week and therefore this particular part of the ban has not yet been lifted. Talks, however, are going on behind the scenes in a bid to find a solution.

What it essentially means for the time being is that Cardiff are able to register new players but are unable to pay fees for them for the next three windows unless we pay the full fee, over to you VT.

Kipre signed a 4 year contract at WBA back in 2020 which ends in September 2024 .
