The 148 Championship free agents Cardiff City could sign for nothing

Both Swansea City and Cardiff City will likely be shopping in a similar market in the summer transfer window.

While Cardiff are placed under a partial EFL transfer embargo which prohibits them for paying any fees for players, Swansea also like to utilise the free agent market where possible in order to keep outgoing costs at a minimum.

At the end of each season, recruitment teams up and down the country pore over all the clubs' retained lists, hoping to stop a gem who has perhaps fallen through the cracks.

Well, according to Transfermarkt, there are 148 free agents who will be looking for work this summer, as things stand.

So, will any take the fancy of Swansea or Cardiff? Have a peruse and see if you would take any next season – and there are a number of familiar names for fans of both clubs...

Now, if we are looking at pushing on next year, but are only able to bring in Loans and Frees, there are some good players here, that 8,9,10 years ago, we would have gone for.

Lets play the game though, if we were to use this list I would take;

Pukki and Meite (Reading) or Barnes (Burnley) up front, John Fleck (Sheff Utd) in the middle, Jake Cooper (Millwall) for CB role. Take Kipre back on Loan for next year and look to get a Prem CM and a Prem Winger on Loan, together with Joe Bennett or Joe Bryan at left back as cover for Jamilu Collins

Didn't he score past us at Blackburn? He was definitely involved. He's just come back from a nasty injury. Around 50 goals in 150 games for Blackburn as a midfielder not a bad return at all.

back to back nasty injuries i believe, think it had to either do with the ligaments or the kneecap, and he did one knee, and when he returned he did the same thing to the other one.
