" Back to square one "

By Paul Abbadanato

Sabri Lamouchi had an idea about transfers and pre-season. We were told some of the transfer targets were exciting names and they were certainly players that would add quality to the squad.

Now, sadly, City are back to square one on the transfer front. A new manager, with his own ideas, will come in and have their own players and transfers in mind. But when will that be? And will the players still be available or have been tapped up by rival clubs?

What of pre-season plans and out-of-contract players?

So many loose ends still remain untied upon hearing this news.

Where are all the tan supporters now alm the one' s who keep saying wait and see how many times does this have to happen
He' s f.ck.ng up and interferring again
Unless this next manager is someone the fans agree with season tickets are f.ck.d i cannot believe he has let la.ouchi go and if he tan thinks bamba can do it he has just f.ck.d up a other season

Exactly. People acting like we saw groundbreaking performances when Sabri was here when all I saw was fans moaning that football was going backwards and that they couldn’t see Sabri here long term.

The club seems to be in a worse position now than when Sabri took over from Hudson. There’s still no contract renewals and nothing at all planned for pre-season, pre-season at least should have been sorted

What’s new with City, we have all been subject to this happening over the years.

It’s not helpful but at least its early and quick and gives the chance for the club to get someone in!
That’s the most important thing rather than who’ve we lost. It’s who is coming in??

I’m not going to lose sleep over it as I said it’s nothing new we can all surmise on what’s gone on, some will know the others will guess.

It’s still Cardiff City and our club just keep the faith and see what happens.

There are no "Tan Supporters", there are many who support the club and he is the custodian of that title at the moment. When he goes nobody will care or "support" him anymore.

Why would you support an ex owner :?

At this rate, Sabri will be in line for the Spurs job !

He is a championship manager unlike Morison or Hudson but lets be honest here, some of the performances were very poor

Can't see the club going after a manager at a club now - as that's compo to them .

Gutted for Sabri, he got the job complete for us keeping us in the championship. He should have been given his chance at next season, obviously Tans demands or contract was too much! :banghead:

Sadly for our great Club, Annis, we returned to square one when we were relegated from the Premiership under Neil Warnock and in truth we have never really ever moved to square two since. That relegation co-incided with the purse strings being swiftly pulled tight by Tan as far as investing in quality additions to the playing staff was concerned. In the ensuing manager merry go round, every manager, (except Morrison who built his squad using freebies and loanees) has inherited their predecessor's squad with no further investment in quality by Tan. Managers have their own styles of play, their own preferred type of player to work with and their own tactics for which they need their choice of player to instigate. This has never happened since NW and as a result successive managers have failed and will continue to fail.

In all fairness, Lamouchi guided us to safety under these type of circumstances. OK we didn't look or play like Real Madrid in doing so but SL couldn't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear BUT HE GOT US ANOTHER CHANCE IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP. He then meets with Tan and has asked for investment in the team to make us a force in the division again and what response does he get? - basically we are happy to stay at square one - we don't want to invest - to speculate to accumulate - so good bye SL!!

Supporters of the current regime can try and dress up the current situation how they like but we are inevitably going to hell in a handcart under this regime. I don't know if Tan's unwillingness to invest in quality players, to engage staff who are football people and his general disinterest in our great club is out of vindictiveness harking back to the back to blue days but it would be just up Tan's street if it was!! I would liken our club at the moment to someone in intensive care and comatose; Tan is keeping the electric supply to the ventilator on to keep us alive but will not invest in the drugs to bring us back to any quality of life so we just breathe and lie there with no hope for any quality of life in the foreseeable future. Well I for one would rather anyone at the helm deciding on my future other than the man who has obviously decided we will never as a club return to any sort of quality of life - all we can look forward to under Tan is barely breathing until he decides to switch of the power completely and as things stand that switch off will be next season as under status quo, relegation is unavoidable and a slip down the divisions is inevitable because this "squad" will struggle in Division one.

Tan, unless you are willing to attract a decent manager and support him with investment in player quality, just go and sell to anyone willing to pay what is a sensible price for the club in its current circumstances - we know there are potential buyers out there that Tan's vindictiveness (and inflated asking price) is ignoring - at least if we die after that, it will be with some dignity.
