Danny Gabbidon: The fans are disillusioned

The former Bluebirds centre-back, who was also caretaker alongside Young, believes the number of managers who have exited in recent years will be a turn off to potential candidates.

"Who is going to jump in to the hot seat?," asked Gabbidon on the BBC's EJFOF. "It's getting to a point where, as a manager, you probably don't want to take that job.

"The fans are just so disillusioned as it is and then, they're thinking maybe this can be a positive step and a foundation to build for next season, then we just find ourselves back to square one.

"It's just another chapter in the saga."

He added: "The main issue with the club is the owners, everything starts from the top and filters down.

"Not everything Vincent Tan has done at the club has been bad, but the way the club is being run at the minute, there is no long-term plan.

"There's no philosophy or style of play. There aren't people in the right positions within the club to build those foundations. It is a problem."

Exactly what I have been saying for years

Wez,

"The main issue with the club is the owners, everything starts from the top and filters down.

"Not everything Vincent Tan has done at the club has been bad, but the way the club is being run at the minute, there is no long-term plan.

"There's no philosophy or style of play. There aren't people in the right positions within the club to build those foundations. It is a problem."

The root cause of all our problems is Tan

I vent during the game, but as I have become older I care less, but this week is testing.

I tried to renew on Monday evening and the transaction glitched out, so I was going to do it on Tuesday but with all this bollox i haven't and the deadline is looming. I can't muster the energy

It piss poor, Morison or Bamba will send me over the edge

That's not the case. It's a lot deeper than that and I'll just refer to FFP as an obstacle to most clubs at the moment. I don't know our exact position but I would imagine we are still not in a great place where that is concerned. What has really changed since our last brush with it...? :?

Knock Tan all you like, he has made many errors and if it keeps you happy but try to make it factual rather than making it up to suit the agenda... ;)

No one has yet said what the viable alternative is, so maybe it's time to slow it down and see what happens over the next few days/weeks/ Summer. If nothing else, Tan (seemingly aided by Dalman) is keeping us alive... :ayatollah:

Well said, let's not all jump to assumptions and believe everything that we read.
Let's just wait and see what comes of all this

Fair enough that’s your view mate. I believe he’s the root cause and has ruined this club beyond repair.

If he was a manager/leader I was working with he’d be on poor performance for behaviour and performance. He refuses to take any advice from anyone apart from his Mother, and I’d trust her more than him to run this football club.

And you’re partially right Sven, I don’t have an agenda per se but when the rotten man leaves our club I’ll celebrate, party round mine :)

PS we don’t have to have viable options to voice our discontent. If my best mate was sleeping with my missus I wouldn’t wait til I found a new girlfriend before I let him know my views.

Gabbidon is not a good pundit.

But he is bang on the money here.

Yep he’s bang on and Blakey been saying this too for years .
I thought at start of season these players were good enough but I was wrong , and I gota say Annis has been right all along with his statements these last few seasons , we need new owners sharpish before we end up melting away

A strange analogy but one you are entitled to, I guess...

I don't think anyone, even Wez, doesn't look forward to the next owner but with the obvious exception, I don't believe one currently exists, as any who have shown interest have been put off by price and/demands

Until that viable person comes knocking, we are lumped with Vincent Tan like it or not and this constant barrage of abuse, insults and (in some cases) unfounded accusations because we don't really know is unlikely to make him put his hands any deeper into his pockets

Why would he? Or maybe testingly, would you?

I know my answer and with the long-term welfare of our club in my heart, I believe this continued bombardment is disrespectful and may be counter-productive

It was a spur of the moment analogy and one that missed the mark haha

If I was a multi millionaire who bought a football club I’d have some respect for the club and its fans. If Tan has had enough then try to find an owner and lower your price. He’s too old for this shit surely.

It didn't 'miss the mark'; I just thought it to be an odd analogy...

However, on the rest above I agree...! :ayatollah:

At the bare minimum he’s at least made sure we still have a club for him to (in your words) ruin beyond repair

I don’t know if that’s true or backed up with hard facts, do you? Or do you just believe the egotistical man when he says he’s the saviour of the club. I don’t for one second think the club wouldn’t have survived without Vincent Tan.

We are in a much worse position now than when he took over.
