Hi all, long time reader of this board but first time posting.
Just can't believe the board (or should I say Vincent) didn't pin down Lamouchi on a 1 to 2 year contract. I know the footy wasn't particularly great but at least he had experience and a bit of English Championship know how.
You could tell when he first arrived that he put out the same team as Hudson did - I think to assess the players and see what he had to work with. We then lost 3 in a row!
From that point on, he changed things up, put Sawyers in the holding role, stuck 2 big boys up top and had Philo playing off them...and it instantly worked. He also said in the press that he knows his team now and from that point on we'll get the ball up field quicker and cut out the short passes.
The next 13 games bought us 6 wins and 2 draws and secured our championship status - 20 points from a possible 39 which is close to play-off pace!!! The last 2 games were just run of the mill as we were safe and we obviously lost both.
If only we gave him a full preseason and allowed him to bring in a few of his own players. Adopting the same style and mentality of that 13 game window, who knows where that would of taken us.
WHY COULD VINCENT NOT SEE THIS!!!!!
So so disappointing, we've really missed a trick...and for what? Saving a few grand a week on Lamouchi's wage demands so we can bring back the ego that is Morrison and hope we score first in games (coz if we dont and concede under that guy, there is only 1 outcome!).
Sorry for the first post rant but it's amazing how this board grate on you!!!
