Rotherham Old and New

Rotherham Old (Millmoor) and New (New York Stadium).

Apparently Millmoor was built on the Roker Park architect and is practically the same stadium as Sunderlands old one.

Notice the dark cloud looming.

A great photo .

Is the old ground still standing ? It wouldn’t surprise me, can’t imagine there is huge demand for land in that town.

I went to the game 20 years ago , our first back in the championship after the QPR playoff win . Certainly the hottest I’ve been in a football game in this country. The metal roof on the stand acted like an oven. Sweltering!

Yes it is. The knackered yard is still operating.

I recall that first day back in the Championship and yes it was a hot day, hottest day I can recall. 0-0 was the score.
