Barnsley had more than 10,000 tickets not sold from their allocation:

Barnsley Football Club is disappointed to learn that the English Football League (EFL) has reallocated the total amount of tickets for the Sky Bet League One Play-Off Final.

The EFL requested 6,000 of Barnsley FC's allocated tickets to be available to Sheffield Wednesday supporters in Tier 5 on Wednesday, which was opposed by the Club.

Whilst we acknowledge the reasons offered up in terms of the current sales totals of both clubs, the potential risk to our supporters was our main concern. However, the EFL are confident that the safety measures put in place are sufficient.

The Reds take on The Owls in a South Yorkshire derby at the home of football on Monday 29 May in a 3pm kick off, with a place in the second tier up for grabs.

Barnsley had even allowed members to have 6 tickets and without their addresses which meant Wednesday fans were buying in their section.

If memory serves me, they didn't sell out when we played them at Wembley either.

Barnsley couldn't sell all their tickets so the EFL have given extra tickets to Sheffield Wednesday - which they will sell.

Policing, security and stewarding will be high as always for a game at Wembley so don't really see the issue.

EFL want as many supporters as possible there. Obviously they have their own corporate tickets as well as tickets for the players' friends and family.

They also have to contend with tickets for all those involved from Wembley Stadium and their affiliates.

So the EFL have done the right thing here.

It's better than for the FA Cup Final. Man Utd and Man City fans are only getting 30,000 tickets each which is ridiculous for a major cup final at a 90,000 capacity stadium.
