I don't mind Coldplay but on a general point when did concerts become so expensive?

£100 a ticket and that's face value! :o :o

I know that they put on a spectacular show which partly explains the cost but the stadium concerts I've been to in years gone by have never been the best.

The acoustics of large stadiums are not great, too many people spend the entire concert talking to their friends, going for food, drinks or to the loo and a lot of people seem to be there just so they can say they were there rather than to listen to the music.

And having to pay £100 to see the band on a big screen or as matchstick figures in the distance seems a lot to me.

However I fully accept that I am a boring old fart :old: but personally I would much rather pay £20 or so to see a band in a smaller venue with people who genuinely appreciate the music being played.

I'm sure the Coldplay concerts will be great "events" - if you're going I hope you enjoy it.

I was at the Beyonce concert recently and the people nearest the stage paid £2500+ for their tickets and Lord only knows what resale prices were...! :o

I'm no big fan but Coldplay are a great gig and I was there last time they were in Cardiff, so can recommend them to anyone who enjoys their music and wants to see a great concert

My most recent gigs were Coldplay and Muse, both in London.

Extortionate prices (the OP's claim on face value will be correct) but a good show.

The prices these artists demand these days is extortionate and the truth is it's down to greed from the artists, record companies, agents, venues etc.
