VINCENT TAN SPEAKS ABOUT HIS PLANS WITH THE NEW MANAGER

Sat Jun 03, 2023 1:44 pm

Vincent Tan:

“This is a long term project with a manager like Erol, we will bring players in from all over Europe.”

“I’d like to welcome Erol Bulut and offer him my sincerest best wishes and good luck. This summer allowed us to consider applicants from across Europe.”

‘ Having taken our time with the process, I’m extremely confident that we have chosen the best candidate to take us forward.’

"Erol has vast experience as a player and as a manager, having played Champions League football and managed European sides across 200 League games to date. This level of experience is needed at this time and I think will prove invaluable to the squad.“

“ We will be fully backing Erol and expect players from all over Europe with vast experience to join us this Summer.”

"His excellent record in European football represents a standard of managerial experience that we have not had at Cardiff City before.”

"His experience in this field, I hope, will allow us to attract a higher profile and standard of player in the coming years.”

Bulut will meet Cardiff staff for the first time on Monday when he is also formally unveiled as the club's new manager at a press conference.

He was more recently in charge of Gazantiep, but left in January this year.

So new manager that tan is backing apparently. So "freebies" it is then as that's the situation we are in. Give it 6 months and things ain't going right he be gone to no doubt that's how fucked up the club is atm. Expecting miracles on a shoe string again no doubt with the lumatic transfer committee signings. Let's hope I'm wrong :ayatollah:

Why shouldn’t it remain true after all he’s bankrolled the club for a few years now

I was waiting for Pep to say "Win next Saturday in the champions league final then i am off to Cardiff" because that's what some of you expect.

This isn't a nobody like Morison and Husdon, let's not start do negative !!

The senior management team Tan, Dalman and Choo have been made out as clowns on here, not without justification, however just maybe on this occasion they have made a good call. I must say that they have well and truly sprung this from nowhere. It certainly is a big turnabout for this club and whilst it represents a big risk, that could be said of any appointment.

I think its going to be an interesting Summer one thing I will say there will be very few clubs in the Championship spending any vast amounts of money so the embargo on transfer fees is perhaps not such a handicap we all think it is. We will have to wait and see if this drive on bringing in players from across Europe can prove a good counter to the embargo. So if Tan is actually going to back this guy with financial support then I for one will watch with great interest over the coming weeks and months. :bluebird: :occasion5:

I’m quietly optimistic about this manager appointment, hopefully he brings in a different brand of football. One thing is for sure, he definitely needs time regardless and that would go for any manager brought in. I can’t find the Vincent Tan quote of “This is a long term project with a manager like Erol, we will bring players in from all over Europe.” anywhere online though, so not sure where that’s come from.

Time is something few managers are given nowadays and we know that Tan is one of the more trigger happy owners.

For me progress next season would be a comfortable mid table finish with an outside chance of the play offs rather than the threat of relegation which has hung over us late into the past two seasons.

If we can achieve mid table next season we can then think of pushing on but we're going to need a fair few new players as many of our squad are bottom Championship or League 1 standard currently.
