James White, 33, from Warwickshire has been charged with displaying threatening or abusive writing like to cause harassment, alarm or distress by the Metropolitan Police.
He has been bailed and will appear before Willesden Magistrates' Court in London on Monday.
White was previously in the news for, as a Britain First activist, allegedly assaulting a security guard at a Coventry hotel. The hotel was housing asylum seekers.
As a teenager, he was sentenced to 18 months in a detention centre for arson.

There was plenty of anti semitic t shirts etc. at the capitol riots, that particular t-shirt was worn by the proud boys at an earlier event in 2020, so i apologise for getting the dates wrong. As a note the proud boys, who wore that t shirt were also at the capitol riots. As were other anti semitic people wearing 'Camp Auschwitz' t shirts. One guy was arrested for that.
My dig wasnt about trump, even though i dislike him, but about people parading around in 'not enough' t shirts, when referencing terrible events and tragedies.
The guy has thankfully been arrested and it was good to see the backlash on social media.
