Gilligan and Bartlett.

Bartlett never understood what offside was and was lightning quick... Never needed to be offside!

For a club that SEEMS to struggle for a prolific goalscorer, we don't half have a great line of strike partnerships.

All those above are legendary.

Thou Dale and Stant where my favourite pairing It has to be these two They did it at a much higher level and Dale and Stant were only ever lower league players

Carl Dale should have played higher. Pike and Dale were equally as prolific.

Clark and Toshack were great together, with Tosh in particular being unplayable in the air. Very few Div 2 defenders if any could get the better of him.

But for sheer footballing skills, I probably enjoyed Chops and Bothroyd even more.

I actually saw Danny score 2 in one game.. away at Charlton first game of the season 70s, think we won 0-2 :D

Thorne & Earnshaw felt unplayable and dangerous at every attack. Thorne was an unbelievable signing at the time. What a warrior.

I loved Carl Dale, also.

Chopra & Bothroyd were absolutely class together.

Some great pairs there!

Big man/little man being the strategy. Not many go with this in the modern game.

Chopra and Bothroyd for me. Unrivalled

To the tune of ‘The fastest milkman in the West’ - Earnie, he plays up front with Leo Fortune-West, great combo.

For me it was Clark + Toshack followed by Evans + Alston. But at the momet i would take any of them partnerships.

Earlier and Nugent were pretty good as well.

Who was Blake with? Did he crossover with Stant and Dale?

All the partnerships mentioned were great, Toshack and Clark probably the best in my time, but my favourite was Alston and Evans :bluebird:

Yes Stant and Dale, Chris Pike and Cohen Griffith were all around in Nathan Blake’s time if I remember rightly.

He was in the same side but played mainly in midfield for us, where his lazy and languid style deceived the opposition as he would suddenly burst past defenders from deep positions. It wasn't until he left us that he regularly played as a striker. I always felt he was better coming from a deeper position. He also played a sweeper role for us for a short while.

For me, his goal against Man City in the cup was more memorable than Young's against Leeds.
