Bluebirds season ticket prices compared:

So come on City fans 18,000 sales would not be asking a lot, even Newport County are more expensive than Cardiff city :bluebird: :bluebird:

Cardiff City fans are set to pay less for the season tickets than supporters of almost any other EFL Championship club next season, writes James Chittick.

With next season’s 24 Championship clubs now confirmed, fans will be looking forward to the start of a new campaign full of hope and expectation.

Whether they support a newly-promoted team scrapping for survival or a side vying for a return to the Premier League, die-hard supporters will likely already have purchased their season tickets for the upcoming year.

But few sets of fans will have to fork out as little to watch their side week in, week out as those following Cardiff. For the cheapest possible season tickets, Bluebirds fans will be paying just £249, less than all but two other clubs in the second tier. Comparatively, fans of Norwich City pay a whopping £534 for the same privilege.

But with some other clubs’ fans paying more than double for their season tickets, there’s no doubt that many Cardiff supporters are getting good value for their money.

Only Queens Park Rangers are charging less for their cheapest season ticket, at £242. Like Cardiff, Huddersfield Town’s cheapest tickets cost £249, making them the joint-second cheapest in the league. They are followed by Preston North End (£280), Hull City (£300) and Stoke City (£344).

At the opposite end of the spectrum, Sheffield Wednesday have the next most expensive tickets after Norwich, at £510. They are followed by Middlesbrough (£480), Blackburn Rovers (£420) and Leeds United (£420).

Of the three relegated former Premier League teams, Leeds United charge the most as mentioned, with Leicester City charging £385 and Southampton £359.

Meanwhile, the newly promoted sides from League One, Plymouth Argyle, Ipswich Town and Sheffield Wednesday charge £370, £353 and £510 respectively.

One caveat to this list however is that many of the cheapest options at some clubs include concessions and “early bird” prices, which are often only available to certain groups of fans. Prices for Birmingham City are no longer available.

There are many justifiable reasons to be critical of our club over the past few seasons but credit where credit's due - the pricing structure for season tickets over the last few seasons has been superb.

I'm pretty sure I'm paying more or less the same as when the liar Ridsdale was in charge.

I can be as critical of Tan and the regime as the next man but if they can help the fans with low ticket prices and keep paying the day to day running costs of the club and avoid the winding up orders and liquidation worries facing Wigan at the moment then I will certainly give them plenty of credit for that@

They also look after away fans with cheap ticket prices whereas we have to pay rip off prices on at a lot of championship clubs.

Not Tan's biggest fan but massive credit to the club for keeping ticket prices down, wish ither clubs would follow suit, especially with away prices
