correct Ramsey best position has always been behind the striker. Page got it massively wrong tonight 1 win in 10 games that's sackable in any league!

Sadly I wouldn’t be excited if he signed for us again he hasn’t looked good for a long time.

He doesn’t impact a game anymore or do much in a game.

Can’t stay fit for to long either and I feel by him just wanting to be home he’ll probably sign a 2 year deal and be happy picking up a pay cheque

Can’t really blame Ramsey when I have absolutely no idea what the team was sent out to do.

It was almost as if Page had just told 5 players to stay back and the other 5 (Ramsey included) to just do whatever they wanted, an absolute mess.

Personally, I just think Rambo is played wronly by Page and suffers from it. That 'free' role behind the attack would be great for us...

I recall his last time here when Arsene Wenger let him come to regain fitnesd after an injury. He was a class act and our form picked up massively during that time and dropped dignificantly when he left...

I'm not one who expects him to play every game but when he does he will make a difference...

Playing him where page played him did not do him any favours, if we play him in his natural position as a number 10, then he will do great for us. And as for this season being the hardest yet, we say this every season, teams coming down and those coming up, mostly do not do as well as they are expected to do

Nail on the head! Are we turning our nose up at an ageing Aarron Ramsey? Hahaha at 50% he'd better us!!!

Whilst Ramsay's career is fading I don't think signing him will necessarily end up being like the Robbie Fowler failure. He still has plenty of quality to impact the Championship, he will just need to be managed very well. What's perhaps more important is who else we sign with him, a striker being key. If we do sign Ramsay I just hope its not a big distraction to what the team needs overall.

It'll come down to how much he wants and the length of contract.Personally I'd offer him a 12 gig only.

Unbelievable post. He done alright last season.
You can't blame one player for that last night. Page has no plan B.
The defence was unbelievably bad, parks football stuff.
Ramsey didn't do much wrong but also didnt control the midfield as you'd expect.

But to say he's past it but would out shine any of our current midfield is nuts.

I agree with Sven. Play him as a 10 and fit the midfielders around him. The likes of Ralls and Rhino-and hopefully a couple of nasty, technically excellent Turks would do the leg work!

We now that Ramsey wouldn't play 3 games a week, he would have to be managed, as Nice did last season and they managed to get 39 games out of him. He certainly was not poor last night, it was the clowns like Rodon who thinks he is Beckenbauer, who then went on to miss to great headed chances, Ampadu I 've never rated him, the back 3 or 4 or whatever Page set them up to be, Ben Davies playing a stupid ball to Morrell when he could have played it out to Nico Williams, then Morrell trying to be clever when he was being closed down to gift them a 4th goal. Ramsey can hardly be responsible for the defeat last night. I will welcome him back with open arms because when he does play he will bring a calmness to the midfield instead of some panic stations we've witnessed over the last few seasons. Play him in the no. 10 position and he will pick out passes for whoever we have in attack.

Definitely a little harsh on Ramsey. His injury comments are warranted and maybe his contracted should be based on how much he plays.

Last night however, played out of position and even then it’s not coaches well (2 holding players should be moving in tandem if you’re going for back 5 system, this wasn’t the case.

He’ll be alright in the Championship playing as a 10, just comes down to injury history.

My initial thoughts, when the Ramsey rumours cropped up, was that he might end up at Forest and hooking up with Brennan Neco Williams and Wayne Hennessy.

That said I do now question whether the Premier League is a step to far for him.

Maybe Championship is now his level, in the twilight of his career.

Perhaps last night he was played out of position and perhaps he will come good if he is played in the right position.

If a Championship club is now his level I can understand him wanting to come to us. But we do need performances not someone to warm the bench.

We have a squad full of defensive/abrasive midfielders, exactly what Wales doesn't. Rambo is exactly the player we have missed since Tomlin, an out-and-out creator.

Page is trying to get his best 11 on the field but most of them are attacking midfielders, so he daftly continues Rambo as a 6 and he is not that.

Our midfielders barely visit the penalty box, Rambo lives around it. He is a10 and nothing will change that

You're 100% correct & Page even said that he was using Ramsey in place of the retired Joe Allen. You can't turn a peach into a banana just by moving it to a different place in the fruit bowl.

played too deep, nothing around him.. Ramsey should just be given a free role to play where he likes.
