If Philogene is available for £500k, why can't we borrow him from Villa and agree a £500k-plus commitment to buy fee in July 2024?

I agree with you Annis, I would hope the club would look at this loan with option to buy like you said. Its whether Villa want the payment upfront this summer that could be a stumbling block.

However, our own stupidity has got us into a transfer embargo so I would imagine it would be extremely difficult to do any sort of deal to buy him and would he actually want to come back as we are not exactly a desirable destination for any player at the moment

I'm not sure how we could "commit" to buying him when we may still be under an embargo at that time?

If Vinnie can't arrange the transfer of funds from Malaysia in time to pay the next instalment ( like he couldn't do with the first payment according to Dalman) then there must be a chance that the embargo will be extended and we would not be able to pay the fee.
