Sol Bamba:
He's clearly sad to leave but very grateful of the opportunity to get his first proper coaching gig here. He understood why Erol Bulut brought his own staff in. Very philosophical about it all.
Said "I love the club" about a dozen times, too.
“I will miss Cardiff and I hope one day to return again.”

I will say it now:
My view not Tans,
You build a successful club around people who care for the club as well as being good for our club.
Sol should of had Darren Purses job.

I'll be in the minority here but I think it was the right decision to let Bamba go.
Do I think he'd be a better option than Purse with the U23s?
Do I think he'd be happy with that position? No I don't.
Bulut has rightly brought in his own people to work with him with the First Team and Ramasut is the only coach staying involved. That makes sense because Ramasut is much more experienced than Bamba.
Bamba came back to the club as part of a combination with Lamouchi, and Lamouchi isn't with us anymore.
The best that Bamba can do, and he knows this, is be a manager at a lower league club or as an assistant again. That wasn't possible with us unfortunately.
Maybe he'll return to us one day as manager, but until then I wish him luck in what he does next.

Ned,
Purse is not a Bulut appointment.
Purse has been a disaster but he is the last of Tans lot.
Bamba would of taken the job.

If true that Bamba would have taken the U23 job, it's a bit odd because Purse hasn't done well.
But I repeat his best option to be successful is to be an assistant somewhere or lower league manager.
That can't happen with us with the new manager.

Annis how do you know Bamba would have taken the Purse job?
Personally think he needs another assistant job for a few years as what would be the points of moving one inexperienced coach in Purse out to replace him with another inexperienced coach in Bamba?

Would have been seen as a demotion by him and not a good a good look if your willing to take it.Presumably Morison wouldn't take it and yet he's taken a job with a different club at a much lower level than a championship U23 side.
Anyway lets see what the next couple of weeks turns up for him. I don't think he'll be out of work for long.
