Aaron Ramsey admits he would 'love' to return to Cardiff City one day, but says his immediate future remains undecided.

The current Wales captain has become the subject of speculation in recent weeks, amid ongoing uncertainty around his situation at French side Nice.

The 32-year-old is, as things stand, out of contract this summer, although there has been some suggestion he has done enough to trigger another year on his current deal. However, there hasn't yet been any confirmation of such an arrangement, with Ramsey himself clearly left uncertain over what the future holds.

This week Ramsey was asked:

He could go a great job for us on and off the pitch even if he’s past his best and can’t play every game.
He truly is one of our own. Starting and finishing his career with us would be a great example to the younger players too. If they can make it happen I think he would be a fantastic signing for us.

He could go a great job for us on and off the pitch even if he’s past his best and can’t play every game.
He truly is one of our own. Starting and finishing his career with us would be a great example to the younger players too. If they can make it happen I think he would be a fantastic signing for us.

Sounds like we've offered him a contract and he's thinking about it.

From the comments by Ramsey to the press, it does sound like he wants to come back now but is obviously not going to say that to the media until if and when he signs.

It's a move that makes sense for all. There were reports that Newcastle wanted him a few months ago. But they have Guimaraes and are signing Tonali from AC Milan so that's not likely anymore. I expect them unexpectedly qualifying for the Champions League changed their transfer plans.

He would be a great player in the Championship and play plenty of minutes but I think he may struggle to play regularly for a PL club anyway.
