All I can say is that if I’m ever a high profile person with a public image issue, I hope I can get a hold of Nantes’ PR representatives!

You’d think reading from what the wider football community seem to think that Cardiff organised the dodgy flight and then decided we weren’t paying when it crashed.

French Newspaper:

FC Nantes president and owner Waldemar Kita, as well as his son Franck – the club’s General Director – have been taken into custody at Nantes’ central police station on Wednesday, according to reports from Presse Océan and Ouest-France. The Kitas have been summoned by the Territorial Directorate of the Judicial Police as part of an investigation opened by the Rennes’ Specialized Interregional Court. The latter is investigating the counts of illegal practice of the activity of players’ agent, forgery, misuse of corporate assets, money laundering of aggravated tax evasion and organized money laundering.

The outlets report that Waldemar Kita was interrogated on some of FC Nantes’ transfers deemed “dubious” before his release. The commissions received and a network of intermediaries involved in those transfers are said to be at the heart of the investigations. On Tuesday, two players’ agents heavily linked to FC Nantes, namely Bakari Sanogo and Joaquim Batica, were also taken into police custody as part of the same investigation. The French publications indicate it is not yet known what charges would be held against the different parties involved.

It is not the first time the Kita name is embroiled in non-sporting news. A judicial investigation has been opened two years ago against Waldemar Kita by the National Financial’s prosecutor relating to suspicions of tax evasion and money laundering.

My View / Opinion I believe Warnock was up to his neck in it as well.

What sticks out for me is that the club have now been ordered to make the second and third payments.

To avoid yet another embargo being imposed let's hope Tan can get the money out of Malaysia a lot quicker than he did for the first instalment.

Pay the money now and then by all means persue Nantes in the civil court if you feel that there is a winnable case but FFS make sure these instalments are paid on time!

That was always going to be the case with fifa over the transfer fee but I think its going yo go on for a very long time this .

I'd read about Kita being dodgy quite a while ago and thought that there's an obvious link to him and McKay in terms of dodgy dealing which maybe a line of investigation for us legally and this prove vicarious liability. This statement kinda hints at that I think and a proverbial can of worms could well be opening and in our favour.

David,

Tan has known about this for years.
He can’t make any excuses that he can’t get the money out of Malaysia
Plus for many years now they have stated their has been provisions made for it.

I'm sure City signed the agents son's to the academy around the same time, maybe part of the dodgy deal??

Sadly, I agree; and equally sadly, Ibelieve Malky was 'on the take' over ACorn and maybe others...

It hasn't gone unnoticed that the authorities are looking into FC Nantes for using (more than one) 'dodgy agents'

I've always thought Vincent Tan must believe he has 'grounds' for his actions and maybe (just maybe) this is showing that...

Pay the money owed and let the proper authorities rule on the rest... :ayatollah:
