A forum for all things Cardiff City

Cardiff City FC can confirm that Mark Harris will leave the Club this summer.
Sparky, an Academy graduate, made his First Team debut in the Emirates FA Cup against Fulham in 2017.
Following loan spells with Wrexham, Port Vale and Newport County, his City First Team career began afresh from late November 2020 onwards, when Harris netted on his first Bluebirds start in over three years, scoring inside nine minutes as City defeated Luton Town, 4-0, at Cardiff City Stadium.
Overall, the five-time Welsh international netted nine competitive goals for Cardiff City, including three strikes in important victories over Middlesbrough, Blackburn Rovers and Sunderland last term.
We’d like to thank Sparky for his services throughout his time with the Club. Mark has been a model professional and departs with the very best wishes from the board, management and staff at Cardiff City.

I think this is the right decision for all involved.
I don't think he should have been offered a new contract in the first place and it appears that Erol Bulut also doesn't think he was good enough.
I wish Mark Harris well for the future but he's not a Championship standard player.
He'll probably move to a League One or League Two club now and that would be more his standard.

Lad tried and gave everything but not good enough at this point in his career.
Maybe a step back will help him. All the best mate.

Good sign for the new manager, the last five have thought Mark was good enough.
I think he'll do ok in league 1 and 2

Lad tried but absolutely useless, cheap but would relegate us.
Good luck to him.

Could never fault his effort, always tried for the short.

Could probably do a decent job at Wrexham.

I agree it's best for all parties, Ned...
But I won't be joining in the 'slate Mark Harris' game that is now in play from certain posters...
I thought he tried his best, put the effort in and doesn't deserve the disrespectful comments being made...
Good luck wherever your journey takes you next, Mark Harris...

He’s been there once and flopped.

As I said earlier either out wide or drop down a league, always tried 100% but just not quite got it at this level yet.
Good luck Sparky all the best lad.
Don't forget once a bluebird...

Mark worked his socks off whenever he was on the pitch so he's defo got my respect! The way we've played over the last few seasons, it was hardly gonna bring the best out of him either. Just not quite good enough yet. Maybe with a couple of full seasons under his belt in L1 or L2, he could make that step back up again. Until then, thankyou and good luck at your next club Mark Harris!!!

Described by myself on more than one occasion as being like a headless chicken, always worked hard and plenty of effort but no end result most of the time. Best of luck to the lad wherever he ends up.

Very disappointing from our club, Mark Harris is a player with so much potential and sadly we will never see it. Such a shame to let such a great player go. AND another player from our academy leaving.

The club better not do the same with Issak Davies and Joel Bagan.
Good luck for the future Sparky, (Mark Harris)
Cant wait to see what happens next for you as i'm expecting great things ahead.

To him a big thank you for putting in 100% effort every time he got on the pitch It is the minimum we require from our players from fans but so few players deliver on that simple request .
He is not the level we require in other aspects to his game but good luck for the future

Your nutts fair play , he's had his chances and never really took them , no where near the standard you need for promotion to the prem.

Massive 9 goal contribution over the last 3 seasons playing championship football. Sory Kaba played 17 games for us and scored 8 goals.
You know your onions, Sam fair play.

Good he's shit infront of goal but runs about like a headless chicken although I see that on Sunday league park pitches.
