CARDIFF CITY v TNS
Tuesday 4th July, 7.30pm
Pre-Season Friendly
Cardiff City Stadium

Pay on the night £5 Adults

Cardiff City continue their pre-season games on Tuesday with another home game against TNS.

Below are a few details on our opponents.

The New Saints play in the JD Cymru Premier and are the most successful club in the history of the competition. They've won the title 15 times and, in the last 21 years, they've finished in the top two in all but one of those seasons.

They have won the title for the last two seasons.

They have been known as The New Saints since 2006. Originally called Llansantffraid FC, they changed their name to Total Network Solutions from 1996 to 2006 due to a sponsorship deal.

They merged with Oswestry Town in 2003.

Two of their most famous fixtures was when they were drawn to play Liverpool in the first qualifying round of the Champions League. Liverpool, who had won the competition the season before, won the two-legged tie 6-0 on aggregate. The home tie for TNS was played at Wrexham.

Although they regularly feature in the Champions League qualifying rounds, they have never qualified for the competition proper. Later this month, they will play BK Hacken of Sweden in the Champions League qualifiers.

TNS play their home games at Park Hall in Oswestry, Shropshire, England. The stadium has a capacity of just over 2,000. Other teams in the Welsh pyramid who have had European games have used the stadium for these ties.

Their current manager is Craig Harrison. He played for Middlesbrough and Crystal Palace.

I am actually going to come back and watch this game.

The Champions of Wales v City, interesting as this club are way above the rest of the other Welsh League clubs and we never send players here?

TNS way better than Penybont. Each fame during preseason is hopefully a step up from the last

They're miles ahead of anyone else in that league Annis and will be a tougher test than Penybont, which was just a training exercise for us really. Still expect us to control this game, but TNS are a lot better. They have their Champions League games soon so crucial preparation for them as well.

This is the last "easy" game for us in pre-season with games against Cambridge, Bristol Rovers, Braga, Porto and Wycombe much better tests.

So would expect more focus on tactics going forward.

Anyone know how to buy a match pass to watch the game on the app? Do I need to wait for match day to do it as I'm unable to see any options at the moment

Watching on Cardiff City TV. Entertaining first half to watch.

City lead 2-1 at HT and quite a comfortable half.

Bagan with a great pass to Robinson for the first goal.

TNS scored a wonder goal to equalise.

McGuinness headed in to restore our lead.

Will be a completely different eleven in the second half.

Really impressed with McGuinness these past two games.

A defender who knows where the net is a valuable commodity

three very defensive midfeilders that can't see a through ball if it knocked them on the head.

Similar to Saturday.

City controlling the first half but not as dominant in the second half when the U23 players are playing.

Possession for possession's sake, backward and sideways, no chance for the front lads as it sooooo sloooooow. Reminiscent of last seasons Morisons gameplan.

Absolutely, loved the full backs wandering in and up feild, far more zip.

Just saying Adams and Rinomhota are destroyers rather than creatives so can't be together, but so are Ralls and Wintle but at least they can see the pass up field

3-1.

Tanner adds City's third.

Great run and it's deflected in.
