My View:
There is a number of our current midfielders that need to be cleared out.
We have too much of a muchness with no real creativity.
Adams is unproven at Championship level, Wintle and King will compete for the defensive role, Ralls, Rinomohta and Sawyers? You could easily lose two out of those three - maybe just retain Ralls as valuable left-side cover.
We must start creating space for our kids to flourish.
Like many of you, I am sceptical some have been built up into something they never will be by the local media.
Joel Bagan, I do think there is a player in there as we saw it over a year ago. It's about confidence with him that’s my belief.
Turner is highly tipped to be our next big home-grown keeper.
Denham has grown significantly. Could be a decent centre back, but needs exposure in League Two or League 1.
Benjamin has a real chance at centre half, but needs to work on his left foot. Potential future leader.
Rubin Colwill, we won't see the best of him until he finally stops growing. Growth spurts have halted his progress.
Isaak Davies, needs to deliver goals and has failed badly 38 appearances/ 2 goals . At the moment looking more like a flank attacker.
Evans, has profited from a season under Gary Johnson at Torquay. This has to be the way forward to develop our kids. Not the Welsh Premiership. Pen y Bont provided no real opposition on Saturday - and could/should have lost by six! Over all that match was a very bad standard of football.
The jury for me though is out on Evan’s making it in the Championship.
Tanner has to get fit. Only then will we see if their is potential he possesses, but has to get fit. No pint sending him out again at 22 yrs old, he either has it or not.
I believe he’s not Championship standard.
See plenty of Joel Colwill, Cian Ashford and Crole, at U21 level all looked good , now need to go out to League 1 /2 etc but it's high time the academy started producing first-team players for us in the Championship.
The right decision for Harris to leave, without a doubt.

Agree with you .

I think there will be one or two surprises going out on loan this season.Just hope the club put a return clause in if we get too many injuries.

To be honest I wouldn't be disappointed if Wintle, King, Rinomhota and Sawyers were all moved on.
It would mean about 4 players would have to come in to replace them but if we want to improve we need to upgrade. Easier said than done I know

Wintle is a very good player in my opinion, does a lot of sweeping up that goes unnoticed. Ralls' commitment is also invaluable and bosses it on his day.
King I haven't seen enough of to comment.
Dissapointed in Rinomhota and Sawyers last season. Overall we need to invest in a really good hard working midfielder which won't come cheap

I’d be fine letting Wintle go. He’d probably fetch a decent fee and he just doesn’t work in a two man midfield which it looks like Erol wants to play (4-2-3-1). A good player, but only really sitting in front of the defence in a midfield 3 like he did under Morison. He’s not dynamic enough to be expected to play in a two.
Disappointed in Sawyers last season but still think he has enough about him to work under Erol.
Rinomhota I don’t think did much wrong, just didn’t play as much as he’d probably had hoped to. The type of midfielder you want in your squad over a season though.

Totally agree ….Wintle is not a great passer but his reading of the game and covering goes unnoticed a lot of the time but we all saw how good he was at Blackpool.
Sawyers is the one I can’t decide on …looks dreadful and very good in equal measures .

I’d say we would have to keep Wintle and Rinomhota, both decent at this level.

Wintle seems to have slotted straight into the gap Pack left when we got rid of him. Pleasing to the eye, but not got a tackle, any spite, or really impact the final third. Bug season for him! A coach needs to get into his head that he needs to pick up a few goals and a few yellows!

like wintle and ralls but sawyers can't see him fitting in with the new manager

Ralls is head and shoulders the best midfielder but father time is catching up with him
Wintle is a L1 DCM, he covers and sweeps up well but in two seasons I can not recall any significant key pass. He looked good in Morisons no attack midfield
Rinomhota may benefit most from the new manager having the engine and pace for the closing down give it to a better player CM that i believe the manager is going to be playing, again no control as he is a disruptor but can make up for Rambo or Colwill.
Sawyers, we will play far too quickly and uncontrolled to make an impact, Brentford made him look better than he was.
King is interesting as he is a good athlete and may end up as our DCM if we are not expecting them to be Malkys Whitts playmakers.
I'd jettison Sawyers, but can't see many taking him unless we stump up a chunk of cash

Ralls for me offers more than just his perceived footballing ability.
He’s always committed
He never shirks responsibility or playing weird and wonderful roles.
He leads and does so by example.
Depending on how we strengthen will dictate if he plays every week but as a squad player he is invaluable and for me the pick of all of the current midfielders. Even wintle who I rate highly for us.
We play better when ralls plays even if he is off his game.

The new manager's favoured system is 4-2-3-1.
Wintle could do well in the role of sitting midfielder. Same goes for Rinomhota as a squad player, and he's our most mobile midfielder.
But I do actually think Ralls would thrive as a sitting midfielder in this system. Especially as he gets older, there would be less pressure on him to cover all the midfield as in previous years.
Sawyers has his strengths, he's a good passer. But he's also prone to big mistakes.
IF we sign Ramsey, the good news is he can play either as a sitting midfielder or in the more forward role.
If think we need to try move Sawyers on for sure. To allow space for new signings then one of Ralls, Wintle and Rinomhota will also have to leave. I don't think it will be Ralls so one out of the other two if not both.
The way I see it, this will be the sort of team we'll be looking at this season (again IF we sign Ramsey):
Allsop
New signing/Ng
McGuinness
New signing
Collins
Ralls
New signing
Robinson
Ramsey
New signing
New signing
That's six new signings for the first choice team which I think would be what we need to press on.
There will be more new signings than that but obviously some will be squad players.
They may also decide they need a new goalkeeper.

I agree, for me ralls is our best midfielder and never lets us down. I do rate wintle. However think rhinos a better sub than starter.
Sawyers was the biggest disappointment for me last season, expected so much from him but he never looked like he was interested
