MY VIEW: CARDIFF CITY TONIGHT TOOK ON THE BEST OF THE WELSH

MY VIEW:

CARDIFF CITY TONIGHT TOOK ON THE BEST OF THE WELSH PREMIER TNS

Both teams taking tonight’s game serious as City players wanting to impress New manager Bulut.

I enjoyed it and a good work out for City.

A tough first-half, very competitive and some neat football.

The second- half a complete different team, with fresh legs, but not much life in the game like Saturdays.

Tanner excellent goal in the 85th min.

CARDIFF CITY 3 v TNS 1
H-T 2-1

First-Half:

11th min: Joel Bagan with a lovely through-ball to split the defence. Robinson picks it up and slots past Connor Roberts in the TNS goal. 1-0 Robinson , nice goal.

14th min: Cardiff City 1-1 TNS (Redmond)
Goal, what a screamer from Danny Redmond!

19th min: GOAL! Cardiff City 2-1 TNS (McGuinness 19)
Goal! Another McGuinness header!

Second-Half:

Quite boring.

TNS missed a sitter in the 75th min.

3-1 Tanner scores an excellent goal after R Collwill made it in the 85th min.

Agree Annis, a good workout for the team.

TNS were way better than Penybont but we were still in control for most of the game.

First half much more entertaining than the second.

Some good signs tonight and I think Bulut will have learnt more about his players.

Tougher tests will start to come now with the two games behind closed doors before the games in Portugal and then finally the Wycombe game the week before the season starts.

No Collins?
I’m assuming we’re getting him 100% fit before risking at match fitness level.

He's still doing more training before returning to playing after such a bad injury.

O'Dowda and Sawyers not been involved either because they've recently been with their national teams.

All are expected to feature in the games in Portugal.

It will be considered job done for Bulut, who will have gleaned some more from what his players are capable of after another runout against Cymru Premier opposition.

Cardiff City first half: Alnwick; Ng, McGuinness, Simpson, Bagan; Wintle, Ralls; Evans, Robinson, Ojo; Etete.

Cardiff City second half: Allsop, Romeo, King, Benjamin, Campbell; R. Colwill, J. Colwill, Rinomhota, Adams, Tanner; Watters

Difference between the halves were the movement and ball retention/protection. Did it well first half, quite sloppy in second, but still enjoyable.

There are players in the 2nd half team who can push forward to become part of the first team squad, but working as a team unit, the second half team wljld struggle hugely.

First half players not good enough and needs to move on:

Ojo
Simpson
Alnwick

Second half:
Watters
Romeo
Campbell
R Colwill
Tanner
Did I mention Watters and Ojo
...

Liked Benjamin and King as centre halves. J Colwill look good as did Bagan jn this system, Bagan's issue is defending though.

I actually agree with the players you’ve said that are not good enough, except Colwill jury still out.

Still not sure on King or Bagan

Evans would like to see how he plays v better opposition.

Ned,

Yes it was worth playing TNS , but remember they are full time and way above the rest of the Welsh League.

Very good work out.

Tougher opposition to come.

Robinson played as a 10? Or out wide?

Wouldn’t mind having some sort of idea who played where and which roles for both half teams.
