Bury FC today played their first game at their home ground

Sat Jul 08, 2023 6:12 pm

Bury FC today played their first game at their home ground Gigg Lane in 1500 days.

They may have lost 6-0 to Bradford, but to those loyal Bury fans, it really doesn’t matter.

They have their club back, a place to go on a Saturday to watch the football again. For the town of Bury it really means so much.

We’re so happy for them.

Good on them, i remember going there in the late 70's (i think it was) a mid week game where we got promoted.

Really pleased for them, their owner really screwed them over.

Hopefully they can bounce back and get back up the leagues in their home stadium.

1976 - my first away game, and yes, we did get promoted that night. Cue pitch invasion :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:
