‘ Max Watters ‘

Another waste of money.

Updated:

Max Watters is signing for League 1 Barnsley on a permanent deal, transfer No fee

Another great signing by the CCFC Committee

The player Glen Williams & Dalman told us cost us £1 million
And another one they said was a future big star.

Apparently the 6th manager Watters has had here Erol Bulut is happy to let him go.

Cardiff City Signed Striker Max Watters for £200,000 in 2021 ( exaggerated and put out as £1 mill  by Glen Williams)

Watters aged 24 Bluebirds 22 appearances/ 1 goal

Barnsley strongly rumoured to be making a move to borrow Cardiff striker Max Watters again on loan.

If Watters returns to Oakwell on a season-long loan after spending some of the last campaign with the Division One Tykes, it effectively means his Bluebirds career is over - as his deal at the Cardiff City Stadium expires in summer 2024

He had a decent run in the side at the start of last season, so nobody can say he's not had enough chances. Sadly I don't think he will ever be Championship Standard. League 2 is definitely his level.

As you say, "another waste of money"

In terms of waste 200k and minimal wages is the amounts a club our size she project to lose. Maybe you by 10 players at 200k. And for 2m spent only takes one gem to make a profit. The waste of money has been much more....Gary marine, cornelious, Murphy. These sums we cannot sustain to keep losing. Watters is league 2 player at best. Had his chance and failed repeatedly

Crap get rid.

Is Watters a striker for a side that wants to aim for playoffs? No.

However, I can't help but feel Steve Morison killed any Oz of confidence Watters had in his own ability. Publicly treated him like a child on multiple occasions.

Wish Max all the best wherever he goes. And if he stays i'll still wish him the best too.

Obvious he's not good enough. Doubt we'll get a fee so just let a League One club have him and get him off the wage bill.

I don't expect it took Bulut long to work out he didn't want him.

Another lower league player who got the big review when he come here from the delusional media who I've seen better on sunday league pitches tbh :bluescarf:

Worse here than Harris.

Jamie Vardy has probably been the worse thing in championship clubs history.

Since his freak improvement, every club has gambled on the "next Jamie Vardy", but rarely do l2 strikers end up championship, and in JV's case international.

I do believe we crushed any belief the lad had as he knew deep down he was nowhere near this level, the defenders are too quick, strong and cute

Spot on, Vardy is a very rare example. You'll get one like that every ten years but his success made clubs believe it was the way to go.

In general, better off with foreign options or PL loans.

I have always hoped he would come good but he hasn't done after being given many opportunities. So it is best for him to find his level. Gutted for the lad but footballers have to be realists.

It's always been easier to destroy rather than create. Hence why attacking players are generally more expensive.

Watters movement under Morison was very good. How many times did he only have to beat the keeper under that spell?

If one of those opportunities went in then it could have been a different story.

My 2p on Watters is different to most. His "run in the team" was in an absolutely poor team, who would expect him to chase the channels, win headers etc.

His loan spells, albeit in a lower league, he's a 'fox in the box' style of goal scorer.

Unfortunately for Max, I feel like he'd to better in a two, and that is not our style. He does better in a team that dominates posession with alot of action in the box; we are not that team at the moment.

He needs to leave. Watching him get ripped off before half time was not a pretty watch.

It looks like Watters is going out and that will be the end of his Cardiff career.

A strange gamble but it's not worked out. His confidence went to pieces under Morison but in reality what was exposed he is not good enough for this level. Morison was also ridiculous persisting with him. That decision cost him his job in my view. Watters needs to be put out of his misery and be released. He will have a good career in the lower leagues and wish him well there.

Dissappointed in that comment Chris its not the lads fault he was crucified by fans and belitted by Morison the bully but you cant send him there but back to MK Dons would be a good move.
