A strong City side, containing:

Isaak Davies / Eli King / Kieron Evans / Campbell / Crole / Joel Colwill

Win away 3-1 at Welsh league side Barry Town last night

Cardiff City's U21 side go to Barry Town United tonight for their first pre-season friendly.

Obviously a bit of a trek for me for an academy pre-season friendly but hopefully a few City fans will go along to this game and help Barry Town United financially :ayatollah:

It will be a strong City team with Isaak Davies, Joel Colwill, Kieron Evans and Eli King all in the squad :bluebird:

The game kicks off at 7.30pm :thumbright:

Well a trialist scored. 2-1 to City H/T. James Crole with the other goal.

Last night A strong City side, with many of the players first team experience and even expected to be in the first team this season or sent out on loan.

Who were the trialists

I was impressed by Colwill and Eli King but neither Davies or Evans stood out. City made some changes after 60 - not as many as Barry - and the younger City players who came on played some nice football.

Barry had a few new faces and were missing some regulars so its hard to gauge if it was their strongest side and they changed the entire side after 60 mins. I watch Barry now and again and don't expect them to finish in the top half but they should stay up and will give TNS and Pen y Bont a game. These are two teams the firsts beat- but didn't steamroll- recently, so given this it was quite a good display by the under 21's and a deserved and reasonably comfortable 3-1 win.

I don’t think Evans or Davies will feature this season and will be loaned. In fact looking at how the squad is shaping up I don’t think many of the youngsters will get much time apart from the subs bench and / or the dreaded injuries

The majority of these players won’t make it.
