We are looking at taking a player from fulham, not sure if it's a loan or a free, and not been told a name or position?
Anyone want to take the time to try and work out who it could be :thumbup:

That would be good!

These are the current players from Fulham (not including forward players as I believe surely we are well stocked in that department)

Defenders;
Terence Kongolo , Issa Diop, Antonee Robinson, Kevin Mbabu, Tim Ream, Tosin Adarabioyo, Kenny Tete
Goalkeepers;
Marek Rodák, Bernd Leno
Midfielders;
Tyrese Francois, Saša Lukić, João Palhinha, Andreas Pereira, Harrison Reed, Tom Cairney

Re: New player

If they would let us have three I would take:

1) Mark Rodak
2) Harry Wilson
3) Bobby Decova-Reid

Not happy how/why BDR left but he proved himself to be an adequate Premier League player and a move back, closer to Bristol, might be what he wants?

I dont remember the reasons behind him leaving only that it was a shock on the last day of the window.

Was it a falling out with Warnock?

Re: New player

No chance of Wilson or Reid I'd say.

Rodak would be a good signing.

Re: New player

Mon Jul 17, 2023 10:43 am

Yeah doubt it would be Wilson but it would be nice shipping ojo out and getting hazza back, we can dream, the GK looks alright tho

Just going through the list of appearances for Fulham last season. There are a few players, some with experience at this level who played little to no football.

Rodrigo Muniz - On loan at Middlesbrough last season
Kevin Mbabu - On loan at Servette
Marek Rodak - 2 Games all season
Harry Wilson - Started 8 games all season
Tom Cairney - Started 6 games all season

I think the most realistic out of those 5 are either Rodak or Cairney. Would love to see HW back at the CCS, but I don't think we can afford his wages.

It can't be Tom Cairney surely, this is a bold statement but I'd rate him as arguably the best central midfielder to ever play in the championship. He's getting on a bit but my God this would be the icing on the cake...nah there is just no way!

You can’t be serious. Best centre mid to ever play in the championship?

Don't know him, is he any good, sounds like an imposing figure at the back at least.

We need a keeper that's for sure.

Re: New player

CB or CM would perfect

Re: New player

Mon Jul 17, 2023 1:12 pm

Tyrese Francois: CM out on loan last season won’t play much this year.

Re: New player

Mon Jul 17, 2023 1:27 pm

Fulham interested in Morato from Benfica.

So could be a CB they are looking to offload.

Neves formally of Wolves is the only other that springs to mind as a centre mid who ticks all the boxes. Maybe Barry Bannan of old. But yeah, rewind a few years and Tom Cairney controlled a game better than any other...maybe Ramsey this year will prove me wrong haha

Peter Whittingham was hands down the best mid the championship has ever seen its a fact

Whittingham
Neves
Taraabt

There’s even a case for players like Robert Snodgrass (Leeds), Kevin Nolan (WHU), Wes Hoolahan (Norwich) and Jack Grealish (Villa) being better than Cairney.

I wouldn’t put Cairney in my top 10 best of all time championship midfielders. Perhaps not even in my top 25

Think it was he had a neck injury watching the ball fly over his head for 90mins.

@BluebirdForever

I'd personally like to see your "Top 25" if you don't have Tom Cairney in it.

I’d like to see his top 10 let alone top 25 CM’s better than Cairney. I can’t think of any better than him apart from Whitts, Neves only played the one season.

West Ham United have entered talks with Fulham over a move for central midfielder Joao Palhinha, and they are hoping to prise him away for a fee of around £40m, according to a report from talkSPORT.

It could be worse if DORTMUND had come in for him ;)

I spoke to a member of BDR's family in London about a while after he left us at a charity event.

My impression after speaking to her was that BDR liked the city, liked his teammates and the fans.

What he didn't like was constantly being over-looked and after performing well he was instantly dropped.
