Merthyr Town Football Club is pleased to welcome back ex-player, Cohen Griffith, who will now be involved in coaching the Under 15's academy team for the 2023/24 season.

I will remember him not just his time at Cardiff but for helping recreate for me the glory European nights i remember as a kid at the City, when he helped Barry knock out the Hungarian cup winners and being part of the side that ran Aberdeen so close in the next round, in the pouring rain in front of 6,000 at Jenner Park. Tony Bird and Chris Pike played that night as well.

Players like Ojo could learn a lot from Cohen - he was the epitomy of a trier and never gave up, chased every lost cause and had a decent touch too. Loved watching him play.

Good Luck Cohen, I knew Cohen when he started as a trainee Youthworker for me at Ystrad Mynach B & G C, and I bumped into him on a number of occasions On my travels as a Welsh League referee. He was always a great guy

Ye loved Cohen . didn't realise he played so many games for us near the top on the all time appearance list

Only met him a couple of times but he seemed to be a lovely guy with a great sense of humour. For example , at a players` reunion event which the Trust organised some years ago he was one of the players there and had a go (comically not nastily) at Rob Philips who was the compere. According to Cohen, Rob thought the player`s name was Cohen Griffith 5 as that was the rating he always gave him in the Echo match reports

Was fortunate to have worked and occasionally played on the same team as Cohen after his CCFC days. He once said I had a sweet left foot. A lovely modest guy

He lives in my village and I see him walking his dog every day. A great bluebird
