Expectations for the season?

Wed Jul 19, 2023 12:47 pm

I still think we need a few more defenders and a keeper for a top-half finish.

If we get them, I'll predict 8th in the League.

I am expecting anywhere 10th to 16th With the current squad and a lack of knowledge on the new signing apart from Ramsey I am trying not to be over optimistic at this stage

With the current squad, I can only see a mid-table finish at best. Hopefully, we should avoid the relegation battle which is obviously a step forward after last season.
However, I am hopeful of a couple of more quality signings, which could raise us into the top ten.
We are not there yet though :!:

Given where we were last season, if Bulut can get us around the top half then we will have done well.

I think a mid table finish this season will be a good achievement and where our expectations should be. We can then build on that the following season and look towards the top six.

If we do better than that it will be brilliant.

It's very difficult for a team to go from just avoiding relegation to competing in the top six. It happens, but it's not easy.

The good news is that I don't see us fighting around the bottom three this season. We are much improved from a few months ago.

I will say that, for the first time in several years, I'm really excited about the new season and can't wait for it to start in just over two weeks.

I think the biggest issue we will have this campaign is Tan.
If Bulut doesn't get time allowed to implement his plans and get team playing his way then he could actually get the Bullet.
Morrison wasn't given enough time (even though it was the right call to let him go) but with the amount of new players bought to the club, he wasn't given time to get them in some cohesion.

I think mid table is a fair expectation and depending on how quickly we gel we may surprise a few along the way.

I think we will sneak a surprise 2-1 win away at Leeds then beat QPR at home and be sitting top of the table after 2 games.

Genuinely, I think we will finish top 4, with further players to follow.

Anything better than last season and a decent two games against the jacks ill be pleased.
Who knows lots of uncertainty with everything but if we finish around 10th i think its a good return.
Im quietly feel good about this season.

Some of the enthusiasm is a little over the top for me. Unproven manager, new squad. I think we’ll finish 15th

My gut feeling is challenging play offs but…. I only bet a handful of bets a year just for fun. I saw Cardiff were 80/1 to be champions, so I thought “Why not” and put on a £1

Based on what I have seen so far, we’ll be bottom 6 desperately trying to avoid the drop.

Top half for me. There's a positive vibe about the place at the moment. Lets hope it stays when the actual football starts

Mid to upper league table, but nowhere near any squeaky bum time about relegation.
