Pen-y-Bont have crashed out of the Europa Conference at the first hurdle - jettisoned by those Andorra football giants Santa Colomba 3-1 on aggregate.

Another pathetic show in Europe by League of Wales representatives.

Columba compare to St Mellons in terms of size - it really does prove the LOW is Dog & Duck.

There is a fair to even chance that all the Welsh clubs will be dumped out at the first-round stage with The New Saints, Haverfordwest and now Bridgend sliding through the exits in the Champions League and the Europa competition before a ball is kicked in anger come August.

And Cardiff U-21 manager Darren Purse feels the Welsh Premier League is an excellent source to Nature our future stars - how can the Bluebirds Board trust this line of thinking of a man clearly out of his depth at the CCS!

For me, Erol Bulut needs to replace Purse as a matter of extreme urgency. Clueless!

Darren Purse is obsessed with sending our players to the Welsh League, this has to be stopped.

We should be sending our developing and fringe players to the highest levels they are capable of and will play. I doubt it will be the welsh prem very often.

Imho, if it stops the loan issues, we should leave the faw and affiliate with the FA. Unless I’m unaware of some benefits of being in the FAW? I’d imagine Wales could still use the ground considering the other option is a rugby stadium?

It’s total bullshit we can loan as you’ve seen and loan out.

Yes the highest level we should send our players to.

The National league would be far better if they can’t get a league 1 or 2 club?

Shkëndija, is a football club based in Tetovo, North Macedonia.

Haverfordwest County clinched their first European victory after beating Shkendija on penalties on a dramatic night in Cardiff.

Lee Jenkins' 89th minute strike gave County a 1-0 win on the night and levelled the scores 1-1 on aggregate.

Neither side could find a goal in extra-time to set up a shoot-out.

Jazz Richards, Jack Wilson and Kai Whitmore all scored but it was left to goalkeeper Zac Jones to save the last North Macedonian spot kick for the win.

Jones dived right to deny Florent Ramadani and spark wild scenes among the players, staff and more than 1,500 fans who had travelled from west Wales to the capital.

They must have feared the worst when Dan Hawkins pulled the opening penalty wide and Ben Fawcett also missed the chance to win the shoot-out but blasted his effort over the bar.

But Jones, who had earlier saved one with his foot and saw another penalty strike the post, would be County's hero.

It had taken a huge physical effort to get the tie back back on level terms after their first appearance in Europe since 2004 ended in a narrow 1-0 defeat in Skopje last week.

They had to switch the return leg to the Cardiff City Stadium because their home ground did not meet UEFA standards, however initially the game failed to live up to the stage.

Pathetic showing? Bit harsh really. It's Pen y Bont, not Manchester United.

Everyone knows the Cymru Leagues are at a low standard because all the bigger clubs are in the English system. It's as simple as that really.

Brilliant to see Haverfordwest going through tonight at CCS.

we are one of the biggest issues the WPL have. irish players usually start out at clubs in ireland, before going onto bigger clubs, meaning they have time to develop players. here, the best young welsh players if they do stay in wales, are with Cardiff Swansea, Wrexham & Newport etc. so they don't stay in the welsh league, so these clubs tend to sign players at either the very end of their careers or players who no one else wants.

regardless of how these teams do in Europe, the fact they get there means a tidy little financial packet for them, which can probably sustain them through the season. as we know ticket sales won't get them through, people complain how poor the league is, but don't pay and go watch them, not criticising but if we were all really that concered we'd all be going to watch a local welsh team when cardiff were playing away or not playing
