I hope grant is going to be pushed into the middle more because o'dowda seems to be getting pushed to left back again under the new manager
Collins looks very steady at left back so grant needs to move from the left wing to free up o'dowda imo
perhaps try grant on the right wing.

O'Dowda will rarely play on the wing this season.
The wingers we have are better than O'Dowda is in that position.

I think we have a lot of similar forwards rather than out and out strikers/target man. If we managed to pull off a Keiffer Moore return then the attacking, creative and midfield dogs are all in place.
Then we can move to the centre halfs

You say we have better wingers than o'dowda who? Not seen much of this "meite" and "tanner" and ojo is not better than
o'dowda
so not having a go
but cannot see anyone better than o'dowda for getting down the wing and crossing quality balls in the box.

And we have also lost philogene from the wing.

My front 4 first teamers would be -
Robinson
Grant Ramsey O’Dowda
Grant possible swap with Robinson.
Meite with CO.
Ojo with Ramsey.
Good options.

i'd play Grant in the middle, and O'Dowda on the wing, he is a strong target man, who can hold up the ball, and bring others into play. with O'Dowdas pace, he can really whip some good balls in from the left and get in behind defences.

My first choice front four would be Ramsey, Grant, Robinson and Ugbo.
The manager seems to think O'Dowda would be better at left back and I agree.
But in fairness, can see why some think O'Dowda should play there. I just think last season he was best out of a bad bunch in those positions and now we have much better.

O'Dowda being played out of position at left back really pi55ed me off last season.
Left back has never been his natural position and he's said that himself. He has the skills to cause damage as a winger (one game I recall was Boro away last season).
If left back is still an issue then we need to sign a specialist defender in that position. IMO O'Dowda's strength is not defending

Tuna Pasta Bake
We have collins back at left back who is a proper left back
o' dowda would be good cover if he got injured
I to was p.ss.d off with o'dowda having to hold back his natural ability to get to the byline take people on whip crosses in
and agree he is totally wasted at left back and i thought grant was brought in as a striker to score goals
not as a supply winger.

I can see O'Dowda as starting full back at home.
If we really want to invert the full-backs and push them up and in field then he has the skill set to make an extra quality man in the final third,it makes sense.
I can see Wintle as the protection with a choice of three as the "chaser" in the top of a double pivot leaving Rambo/Colwell as the attacking central midfielder/10/second striker. So Grant Robinson and Meite can be fluid, with either fullback making the extra man.
How modern

Wow! I thought I had a decent understanding of football but reading your last paragraph I obviously don't lol

Would like to see the same set up that was at WBA - With Grant and Robbo a few seasons ago .

If we play a front 3 in a 433 then it's Grant, Ugbo and Robinson. If we play with wingers in a 442 or 4231 O'Dawada has to start as he's the best out and out winger we have with Grant as the Striker.
Whatever the system up front, Collins is our best LB so first choice for me.
The best thing is we have plenty of very good options which we haven't had for a few seasons.

I haven't seen Ugbo do anything yet?
Maybe he will improve but I think we are going to miss Kaba who's going to get the goals.
I'm also worried about the defence, I think we are going to miss Kipre.

No I've not been impressed with Ugbo so far either but it's early days yet. We do have attacking options with Grant, Robinson and Meite all capable of playing as a front man.
Yes we need to strengthen at CB. Out of last seasons loans of Kipre, Kaba and Philogene, Kipre is the one we will miss the most.
If Bulut plans on bringing in 3 more players, hopefully a GK and a CB are 2 of them.
